  1. While that’s true, I don’t see any other way that they could’ve addressed the problems in that newsroom, given that some at the station already tried addressing their concerns to corporate (at least, according to Matthew Keys). I understand that Nexstar has the legal right to fire them for publicizing that memo, and I suppose it’s not in the company’s interest to employ people who can’t be trusted with internal info. However, I think Nexstar also has a practical obligation to address the concerns that led to such a leak happening in the first place.

  2. No more newscasts. Please. It will just be rehashed packages and VO/SOTs from the morning news. EDIT: I say this also because in some markets, news directors will expect "one man band" multimedia journalists to switch up their packages for multiple newscasts.

  3. One of his claims to fame seems to be having an absurd anti-Asian streak, which is, especially for me, enough not to like him. He’s also a remarkably unserious commentator, even by the standards of this particular network.

  4. It seems Pacific Time takes a little more liberty with things because of the delay, yet keeps primetime mostly on Eastern's schedule (aside from some "early prime" experiments over the years) So basically Eastern Time is the only time zone that regularly airs network newscasts at 6:30 local time in most markets?

  5. I'm assuming they will be airing the eastern feed "live" and airing the pacific feed at it's normal time (6:30?)

  6. FTVLive is reporting that the new and existing independent stations (minus Tampa and Seattle) will be going news-heavy (similar to KCAL) this fall. He also reports that CBS is ending the hybrid local-national NOW newscast in August. (h/t @24994J)

  8. Just because one country's show had more winners than the other doesn't mean it is better. IMO, they both were boring. Also, "you heard somewhere?" Where did you hear it? And what are you *even* talking about with Seacrest being married?

  10. You have to wonder about the future of the late night talkers, especially with election season around the corner.

  11. Watters may be the dumbest and most lightweight host Fox has (and that's saying a lot).
