  1. yeah, pretty disingenuous to say they are using green screen today, but act like they don't normally do so. Usually for By Design shows, they are on location somewhere.

  3. If Ernie and Chuck aren't both joining then they should just move on with a new studio show. Ernie has already said he isn’t moving. Nothing in sports comes close to how great Inside the NBA is.

  4. Since Comcast is a cable company, why wouldn't they want to put some NBA games on USA network along with the show Inside the NBA, if they do get part of the deal?

  5. Definitely seems part of their attempt to integrate the network talent to WCBS (and why Elaine Quijano is now on WCBS). Kristine and Vlad anchored both 5 and 11 (usually 11pm is almost always anchored solo when the other is off). Dick Brennan did the 8pm, so he was likely available...

  7. I am still shocked and saddened by the passing of Sam Rubin. As Frank Buckley said, Sam was KTLA. He had a genuine quality every time he was on air. I admired how he would call as he saw it, even at the risk of getting in trouble. If anything, I thought he gave the best insider perspective of the television news business by reporting on the comings and goings at rival stations. I remembered this particular story that he shared on his Facebook page about the time KABC's GM squashed his live interview with Regis and Kelly on KTLA's air. Nobody did more to lift up the curtain on the news business, and it seemed that he genuinely felt that the viewers deserved transparency when it comes to the people they invited into their homes regularly. https://www.facebook.com/samrubinktla/posts/pfbid0BfA7XYxxkwqTFx6bacpcaz6tBaxuCH7WZXFF5f8kwnWraY6oZGjBH3NwgadkmaAil On a personal note, I had the honor to meet him briefly at the LA Festival of Books at the KTLA booth and get a personalized autograph that I will cherish forever. I'm thankful I got to shake his hand and thank him for brightening up my mornings. RIP Sam.

  9. Aww, poor Nexstar... They got caught circumventing ownership caps. With no other Nexstar station in the market, a bridge too far. https://www.nexttv.com/news/nexstar-urges-fcc-to-reverse-ruling-ordering-sale-of-wpix

  10. Don't know where else to put this but surprisingly NBC is breaking up the 3-hour Law and Order Thursday block to put Organized Crime on soely Peacock. According to execs it does well on streaming. https://collider.com/law-and-order-organized-crime-peacock-explained/ The strength of this block was having Stabler and Benson together on back to back shows. SB: *The Dick Wolf blocks were thought to be so solid that when we discussed wether NBC would cut the third hour of prime time, many said they wouldn't do it just because of the Chicago/L&O lineups. I too though those blocks would say in place for a while.
