  1. Agreed about the graphics. What are those lower thirds? There are private YouTubers (and maybe even college stations) that have nicer graphics than that. What are those shapes? What is that font?

  2. Except when not airing any of the Real Housewives franchises, or Andy Cohen's show (which is part of that same universe), it airs the same movies you find on other NBCU outlets including E, USA and SyFy. And that is the problem with so many cable outlets by Paramount, ABC and NBCU - the same shows and movies are broadcast on all of them.

  3. Gray is turning into another Sinclair with these draconian moves. I'll admit it, I let my guard down on this company. They seemed like a cheap company back then as they sucked up companies like Schurz and changed their cheap graphics packages on their stations like dirty underwear every few months. Then Sinclair bought more stations, and Media General succumbed to Nexstar. Then when Raycom "merged" with Gray, there seemed to be some hope. Putting Meredith out of their misery was another accomplishment of theirs along with all of their "committment" to Atlanta, WGCL/WANF, and whatever "Assembly Atlanta" is. But the problem is, and always has been the top-bottom mentality of these companies that has destroyed the stations they've acquired, instead of using the best practices of strong stations to make the company better. (Only problem, it's too expensive) It's a problem that's not unique to TV, it's everywhere as companies are leveraging their assets to the point of selling off the parts to make the top richer and the minions doing the work being laid off and whoever's left getting more work for less pay or not enough to keep up with the rising cost of everything. And if it's ugly now, just wait. God willing if this election goes the wrong way....we're literally screwed as these companies have decimated our news sources and a generation of voters has been sorely misled on what news is. That's it for me now.

  4. Jeopardy! EP Davies disclosed as much a few weeks ago on that show's podcast. The goal is for a likely-next day option to be available at the start of the 2025-26 season.

  5. Just watched tonight's CBS Evening News. Maurice anchors flawlessly. Lonnie does weather perfect in their new format. Time for a change and it can't happen soon enough. May the Broadcast Center live on, it ain't broke. It's a jewel.

  6. Katie most definitely has the chops for hard news, no question. David Muir is not bad at all, his broadcast is bad. Many here have actually said David's versatility would be suited for GMA compared to George Stephanopolus.

  7. CBS also had Connie Chung as the first Asian-American to co-anchor the Evening News and she didn't stick around too long either. Let's see what this looks like when it airs.

  8. Yes! I think this is the majority view. Those who mentioned above how great he was are in the minority.

  9. Among all the instability and criticisms of Paramount and the CBSEN, I just wanted to give the program props for finally improving it's aesthetic. After years of the outdated brownish looking sets, the current evening news setup is the best among the big three broadcasts. The Weekend news set looks great with a contrast of dark blue and white with the Cronkite style map. Dimmer lighting and warm colors can do wonders. Similarly the Washington bureau set looks just as good, and the O&Os are getting some nice sets fashioned after KCAL. Steps in the right direction aesthetically.
