  1. Exactly. I think it's pretty clear Skydance knew this would hurt the ratings and destroy the credibility of CBS News, but turning it into evil far right propaganda puts the company in good graces with an evil authoritarian government, and that's all that matters to them. The private media in the rest of the western world is covering the United States Government much differently than the private media in the United States (outside of MS NOW). I guarantee if the Canadian Government had law enforcement coming in to Canadian cities terrorizing and torturing people and shooting people in the face the coverage would not be remotely close to what we are seeing on the American evening network newscasts. A Canadian network would not allow the prime minster of Canada to break into the season finale of Survivor to talk about his "accomplishments" of the past year. CBS News ratings are crashing, their credibility and brand is destroyed, they are losing millions every year, and Skydance doesn't care, they are using it as a tool to get special treatment from the evil corrupt government so they can buy Warner Brothers Discovery, the fact that Skydance leadership shares the deplorable views of MAGA is just an added bonus for them.

  2. No, the left didn't forget. The left knew people voted for this. And people voted for it because they wanted the left to suffer (so who's demonizing who?). Yet they never realized they'll be suffering too. Now that they are (more than the left), they don't want it anymore. But yeah, people did vote for it. And people will vote for it again (you know...after they forget).

  3. This doesn’t feel like a ratings play for them. They’re trying to position themselves in the current administration’s good graces for their corporate interests. And assuming you’re one of those, I can only hope you’re the next victim of this administration’s absurdity. Good luck.

  4. The New York Post and NBCUniversal themselves are reporting that “NBC Nightly News” notched a rare ratings win over longtime rival “ABC World News Tonight” in the prized 25-54 demographic last week — as “CBS Evening News” fell further behind with new anchor Tony Dokoupil at the helm. This marked its first weekly win in this key demographic in six years, attracting an average of 992,000 viewers aged 25-54 in the first week of this year between January 5-11, slightly surpassing ABC’s 989,000 viewers according to Nielsen. A lot of viewers are fatigued from Muir’s in-your-face approach and the propagandist news vision that Dokoupil has to endure. Llamas is straight to the point with the headlines and hones in on those daily issues that people in and out of that 25-54 group can relate to.

  6. Hopefully, CBS will stand their ground and not give in to pressure from the commie-left who hate law enforcement and the orange man. The left forgets that people DID vote for this, so demonizing half of America-- yeah, gotcha.

  7. Variety reports the new pro-MAGA CBS Evening News is down 23% from same time last year. Pulling in half the audience of ABC World News Tonight. Also pulled in less viewers than the first week of DuBois & Dickerson co-anchoring. Only 533,000 viewers 25-54 are watching, and if you did tune in you saw them spewing far right pro-ICE propaganda. Television news was already dying, but the way all the news orgs are operating (with CBS being by far the worst) is just going to result in a much quicker death. The credibility is gone. We are the only country with an authoritarian government where state TV is not needed because the private broadcasters are more than happy to have their "news" orgs play the role of state propaganda. It will be interesting to see how quickly Paramount gets CBS Greenland on the air.

  8. So, as it turns out, "Whiskey Fridays" is not going to be a real segment, according to CBS... it was not for broadcast, "not a real title...not a real sponsor, and this is not a real story." The graphics being tested were just a placeholder "for a potential non-televised, in-person private event."

  10. Interesting. I never thought about the entertainment bias as being a ploy to appeal to large cities. I always just thought it was a product of most shows being shot in large blue cities On one hand, if any of the big three networks were to go right, CBS is the most fitting with its endless police procedurals. But yes, CBS does not have the cable advantage that Fox News has. Not even Fox O&Os or broadcast swing right for the most part.

  11. Now this is total speculation however Evrod Cassimy posted this on his facebook. Obviously we know they're moving their newsroom and getting a new studio. By this post though it seems like they're saying goodbye today so I'm wondering if today at either 11am or 4pm will be the launch with the morning team being in the new studio tomorrow. The newsroom looks like it has already moved upstairs. Regardless the debut is imminent.

  13. Mostly true. The only difference I noticed was the OTS inserts were from the new graphics. The difference to that is subtle enough with the biggest difference being the bolder font. The remainder of the newscast was (refreshingly) the same.

  14. This means that MASN is a fully Orioles network for the very first time. MASN and the Orioles wanted this all along and they finally got their wish.

  15. FOX News is very successful demonizing half the country, but they are a national propaganda outlet, they survive on subscription fees / national viewers and don't need to worry about getting viewers in major cities that are overwhelmingly left wing like a general broadcast network does. The entertainment programming on all the broadcast networks, from CBS to FOX, is left wing for a reason. They know these left wing shows don't appeal to "half the country" but they appeal to viewers in the major cities where they own stations and produce newscasts. It makes zero sense from a financial standpoint for a broadcast network like CBS to turn their news operation into far right propaganda, if the United States wasn't under an evil far right authoritarian Government this never would be happening. Polls just came out that the majority of the country wants to abolish ICE so the half the country is evil and wants this argument doesn't even work anymore, ICE has become too evil for the trump voting demons.
