  1. Unbelievable. Dang, I'm surprised. Shocked but surprised.

  2. At least one Pence is leaving a dumpster fire. I find her timing (International Women's Day) vis a vis her uncle's unchecked misogyny to be quite coincidental. Back on topic, given WTTV's rating woes I wonder if their time with CBS will be akin to what happened in Seattle 20 years ago. I know there's a few years left but I think Nexstar would kill to get CBS back on WISH if they could.

  3. The new, sublimely elegant 6 a.m. news on France 2, produced by France Info: (With so many world-class designers in this country, why can't a U.S. station come up with something this elegant?)

  5. As long as Tribune is willing to pay, CBS is staying put on WTTV.

  6. Actually, they're only on at 6:30am in the morning. SIX THIRTY. That's it. Are we back to 1988?

  7. Anyway, back on topic, tegna needs to update its media page on its website so that it either places the stations by market rank in descending order like Tribune, or make a map of the stations with the market rank of the stations and station info like Nexstar Also, td jakes show will be replaced by a show called "BOLD" (which more than likely isn't that bold) on all tegna stations effective this fall. http://www.broadcastingcable.com/news/distribution/exclusive-tegna-s-bold-replace-td-jakes/164112

  8. My guess would be sometime this week. I believe they started dismantling the set right after Good Day ended Feb. 8th. Since we're talking about a complete gut job, it's possible more time is needed to get everything in place. We shall see...

  9. Sad news out of South Bend today, it is with a heavy heart to inform you all that long time WNDU sportscaster Jeff Jeffers, The Dean of Michiana Sports has passed away yesterday morning. Jeff worked at the South Bend's NBC affiliate (WNDU) for four decades. Jeffers cared about the television station as much as anyone ever waked in the doors. Jeffers cared about Notre Dame Football, he had a passion about The Fighting Irish liked no other. Jeff was inducted into the Indiana Football hall of Fame in 2008 for his life work covering and supporting the growth of the game he loved, it was an honor he cherished. TVNT would like to take this time to offer our sincere thoughts, prayers, and condolences to Jeff wife Leslie, his four adorable children Leah Ann, Scott, Ryan and Kelly and to Jeff extended family at WNDU NewsCenter 16 in this very difficult and emotional time. Rest In Peace, Jeff and Godspeed. You're in a better place. http://www.wndu.com/content/news/WNDUs-Jeff-Jeffers-passes-away-417115853.html

  10. I would imagine we're getting close to the debut of the new set (unless there running behind, which wouldn't surprise me for 'FLD).

  11. Too bad. Robb was really good and fell right on in. WIS has had a big turnover of talent in the past 3/4 years. Management is running this powerhouse into the ground.

  12. Man, they are dropping like flies here in Milwaukee. Not literally, but it seems all of the veterans are all retiring. Within the last several months, we've had John Malan (Weather, WTMJ) and Tom Pipines (Sports, WITI) both retire, and now Mike Anderson (News, WISN) announced his retirement as well. This follows not long after Vince Condella (Weather, WITI) retired mid-last year. This list doesn't even include Kathy Mykelby (News, WISN), who announced a little while ago that she was scaling back, but doesn't plan to immediately retire quite yet.

  13. December 21st of this year (2017) will mark 65 years since the nation's second oldest UHF station that is still operating today and the oldest UHF station that never changed channel numbers (stayed on channel 43 since its entire existence), WPMT, signed on the airwaves as WSBA-TV, and gave the Susquehanna Valley another choice for TV, other than WGAL. Here is a newscast from WPMT in 1999.

  16. For reference, the BBC *rehearses* exactly every six months what to do for rolling coverage if/when the Queen dies from suffocating on a pillow. That includes booting normal programming from their usual studios for a day or two to "rehearse." They have everything sorted out down to what color tie the male anchor should wear. Getting some graphics templates ready seems pretty tame by comparison, even if it may be in a little poor taste that they didn't omit the death year or put in a year impossibly far off in the future instead. But then again, I'm sure nobody thought that those would ever be seen outside CBS.

  17. Completely normal - it's done for politicians, celebrities, royals and world leaders. They are also updated regularly. It is expected that they have things for this especially for someone of her age.
