  1. WBNS has also copycatted the CTM set for their local version: "10 This Morning."

  2. So apparently one network in the country of Georgia, Imedi, copied the CBS TM set design (or used the same designer). Via TVForum poster huszar.

  3. He's been having audio encoding issues and has had to reupload a few videos. There was a commercial missing its sound entirely. Seconded on the KPNX part. I really, really want that "Your Choice for Real Life, Real News in the 90s" open.

  4. I've already posted my two cents in that thread. There's a lot more to come from them.

  5. WRAL and WRAZ have been taken off the air on AT&T U-Verse due to a retrans dispute. This has been happening since 5:04 pm Eastern yesterday. http://www.wral.com/missing-wral-fox-50-on-at-t-u-verse-/16921951/

  7. I believe Gil Jimenez did many of the standard-issue Gray sets introduced from the mid to late 2000s. Some are still in use today. Who did the mid-80 Scripps sets? I know WEWS, WCPO and WMC had them.

  8. Per the Memphis Commercial Appeal, former WREG news anchor Richard Ransom has been hired as the new main anchor and managing editor at crosstown rival WATN. His first day on air is September 25th and replaces Brandon Artiles, who will continue to anchor the 9:00 news on sister station WLMT. http://www.commercialappeal.com/story/news/local/suburbs/2017/09/14/richard-ransom-returns-moving-local-24-anchor-desk/664084001/

  9. Since we're already on a KSAZ kick...here's some Fox 10 News from 2005. This was the package that debuted Fusion News and only lasted a year or a year and a half until the O&O look was created. Features John Hook and Kari Lake, along with Yetta Gibson (now of KTVK/KPHO) and Marc Martinez (now the weeknight 10pm anchor).

  10. I was wondering how they will handle it. I know the local news avails are gone but in my mind it doesn't make sense for the ticker to disappear for an hour. I wonder if they will do something like they did during Rio with the altered graphics using a different "ticker background". The affiliates had nothing to do on their end as the time/temp and crawl remained in the same spot.

  11. It's an interesting station that's for sure. As someone who lives in St. Louis, I'm curious to see how they'll revamp Channel 24, because it desperately needs an overhaul.

  12. How about that time they talked about premarital sex?

  13. So I'm assuming this ran concurrently with the "Nightcast" theme? I'd assume so judging by the teaser at 26:27

  14. The set in the round were in two varieties, WLS (with 2 Tri Vision weather/chromakey/station logo units) and the WXYZ variety (w/ 1 TriVision unit). In addition to WLS, the dual TriVision sets also were at KTVI, and KOB-TV. And along w/ WXYZ, the set in the round w/ single TriVision units included KPIX and WKYC. I am almost willing to bet that the book that noggi posted from the Broadcast Design Association may have both the WXYZ and KPIX sets described above complete with a listing of the materials used to build it... KPIX's version... And WKYC's.... and KOB's Photo's The shot with the logo is the Tri Vision, and the other is the actual set

  16. So did WPTV and KJRH. The latter using that set is pretty rare, but there is a 1986 news brief with Beth Rengel where a "blue background" is shown behind her, which is part of that set. I wish we could find more KJRH from that period, but that's just typical Oklahoma television for ya.

  17. WLS and WXYZ actually used the same sets pre-1983 (though the latter had this gone by '84):

  18. Not this season The View will be back and GH is not in danger of cancellation, and Rebecca Campbell has 99 problems on the daytime division is not one of them at the moment.
