1. Nice promo. I think I’ve seen it before.

 2. Even if more talent leaves WABC — they won’t suffer. In the last 14 years, they’ve had three different 11pm coanchors, two different 6pm coanchors, 2 different 5pm coanchors, 3 different noon teams and 4 different morning teams. On top of that, a good number of long time reporters left while new, younger ones have joined the team and the weekend teams change every few years. They’ll survive a few more changes. That said, I do hope some behind the scenes changes occur as things don’t seem as great as they usually are at WABC.

 3. December 4th. One more week. EDIT - More info. Aside from the refreshed logo, it doesn't seem like there'll be much dramatic change (see attached video).

 4. Boy, I seemed to have missed a lot in South Florida since leaving four months ago because I just realized that Erika Delgado (ex-'TVJ-er) has joined WSVN.

 5. WHBQ's version was dirt poor compared to KCRA, and it was back when the station was trying to go for a "hard news" look on the cheap. My guess is someone at Adams really liked what Kelly Broadcasting was doing at the time and wanted to mimic it.

 8. And 3 from Montreal! CBMT (Montreal) October 5, 1998 11:00pm CBMT (Montreal) October 14, 1994 11:00pm (and 6pm Open/Close at the start) IMHO, CBC knocked it out of the ballpark with this set and theme! 9. (Since we're going international!) O Canada! Enjoy the 90s Canadian goodness on this Remembrance Day. CIHF/MITV (Halifax) September 28, 1996 6:00pm CFQC (Saskatoon) April 26, 1995 11:30pm CBXT (Edmonton)/CBRT (Calgary) April 27, 1995 6:00pm I love this theme - it's been used around Canada by CBC stations, including (at least) in British Columbia, Ottawa, and Montreal CBLT (Toronto) October 20, 1994 11:00pm

 10. One of today's tapes is from my Gulf Coast trip to the Florida Panhandle in July 1995. WEAR 5pm; WMBB 5pm; WTVY 6pm; WDHN 10pm; WHOA (Promo); WEAR 6pm; WJHG 5pm; WPMI 6am; WALA 10pm; KLFY 12pm ("Meet Your Neighbor"); WLOX 4pm; WLOX 5pm; WKRG 6pm; KATC 5:30pm; WMBB 11am; WTVY 5pm; WJHG 6pm; WPGX 9pm (Audio Only); WSFA 10pm; WALA 10pm (again...) Notes: WHOA is just a promo for their 5pm anchor, but I don't recognize the music; WPGX is audio only - due to Summer Gulf Tropo, WFTS in Tampa in was splattering all over the signal (plus probably WTGS/Savannah was in the mix) - at least I caught the audio and some of the station ID slide...; I'm guessing WPMI was "starting out" their news operation by this time, as they became the NBC affiliate on Jan. 1, 1996 - WALA's owners were already linked to Fox by this time (and WLUK was switching in about a month from this point). Cable in Destin at the time had WEAR, WTVY, WJHG, WMBB, and WPMI (these were the only news-producing local stations).

 11. I too think the Evening News will become more WNT-like, however, it'll be difficult to fully pull it off mostly due to the fact that CBS's reporter base is so old compared to ABC. I'd find it hard to see someone like John Blackstone doing a minute long package with the phrases "fast moving", "dramatic" and "chaos" used, sometimes all in the same sentence.

 12. I dont think they would go to wpix especially if it becomes sinclair

 13. To where though? I highly doubt WNBC, WCBS would break up their anchor/reporter ranks to bring in any cast from WABC. Maybe WNYW or *WPIX* would try to court them but I doubt they will take the paycut to go to those stations. The only two ways I see it is: they will remain at WABC, but there would be a purge in the management suits or suck it up and remain at WABC.

 14. This will be the beginning of the end of WABC's news dominance in NYC. Mark my words.

 15. Sade was in a serious car accident that's why she's out. But I really think this will go further leading to firings and more lawsuits. This is just the beginning. Prime example Michelle Charlesworth

 16. They really stretched the use of the old studio, especially with a relatively stationary anchor, though they even made up some stand-ups for his final Thanksgiving in 2015. He was like the first anchor to stand in the new weather center for the toss, and he stood in front of the desk with Jerry and Jim in the anchor chairs to close the show.

 19. I found another big one! An 11pm newscast from the then-new WSYX from November 12, 1987 (less than 2 months after the call letter change) Plus a bonus, the behind the scenes doings of a 6pm newscast from June 1988:
