  1. Agreed. The Mike Davis discussion is moved to this thread.

  2. Adults 25-54 is the most important to the sales department, because it helps them with advertising rates. People in that age range have the most disposable income. Nevertheless, winning anything in the July book is about as meaningful as winning a preseason NFL game.

  3. That's not entirely true. A lot (ratings-wise) depends on what's happening in the U.S./Around the World. Plus, bigger stories (Mass Shootings, Hurricane Dorian, etc..) often result in a larger than average viewership. For example >>> From Adweek/TVNewer: 'World News Tonight with David Muir has now finished as the most-watched evening newscast for 48 out of the past 49 weeks, and this past week (Week of August 26) increased its lead year-to-year total viewer advantage over NBC by +484% (vs. 181,000 for week of Aug. 27). World News also turned in its largest average total audience in four months, and its largest average adults 25-54 audience in 12 weeks.' Having a change in anchors during the summer wasn't the smartest move for CEN. And Norah's inability to mask her disdain for Trump isn't helping matters.

  5. This might be one of my biggest finds this year: The Spirit of Tampa Bay is Gari! It's rare to find unknown Gari works, but this appears to be one of them. It also appears there is a v2 of this image campaign that debuted in 1983. From Walt Belcher's April 11, 1983 Tampa Tribune TV column:

  6. While that statement may be true however the way I look at it, all of the stuff going on at WBNS (including what happened today with Mike Davis) is starting to catch up to 10TV. Don't be surprised if WSYX overtakes 10TV's ratings spot in additional time slots moving forward.

  7. A KOCO presentation on the OKC bombing aftermath in 1995. The “Special Presentation” slide is voiced by then-Gannett VO Lisa Malay, since KOCO was owned by Gannett back then.

  10. I mean, it is summer. Aren’t numbers expected to be down? Seems like an unfair comparison.

  11. Sinclair already did their contribution to patriotism with the flag graphics. They don’t have the extra money to do the anthem like Gray, CBS, and Nexstar are doing.

  12. SINCLAIR HATES AMERICA?!?!?! Buncha Commies.

  13. The anthem isn't the problem. It's how OTHERS have polarized it and used it as a tool to test one's "America-ness." That's a right that NO ONE can take away from anyone. EVER. We live in a country where we are free to be patriotic and free to question the powers that be for what they are doing. All this noise is simply because the ideals our country was founded on are alive and well. And it should be pointed out that a certain other company that works the flag into their graphics and ladens their news product with propaganda hasn't picked up on this proud American broadcast tradition.
