  1. Weigel has finally launched its own website.
  2. WSB VP/GM Tim McVay has announced that he will retire at the end of the year. He has been GM of Channel 2 for six years but has associated with Cox for 39 years.
  3. The deal of WZRB/WRBU & KTRV to Ion was completed. And we have a new Weigel M&A. Controlling their own destiny, Weigel has bought the OTA Broadcasting stations in Seattle & San Francisco for $23.2M. The Seattle stations (KVOS & KFFV) are for $13.1M and the SF stations (KTLN & KAXT-CD) for $10.1M. EDIT 11:54am/ET: Write-up from TVNewsCheck.
  4. Hosea Sanders and Liz Nagy are anchoring the Sunday morning show this AM. Pathieu was back on the field.
  5. And the FCC has greenlighted them both. Could Sabin and company strike again with another station buy?
  6. She was actually doing traffic "behind the booth" for a couple of weeks. But her on-air debut was Monday. Glad that they didn't stick with that "bimbo". You know who I'm taking about.
  7. A small M&A. Looks like CNZ (owner of WLGA & WIWN) is buying silent Del Rio, TX station KYVV for $450K.
  8. He has never stopped doing that. Where have you been?
  9. The KIEM/KVIQ deals were greenlighted Tuesday (10/17). And a New M&A tonight. This is pretty unusual. Lilly (owners of WENY, WICU/WSEE, & KITV) is acquiring Marquette, MI station WZMQ for $103,475. And they're currently operating the station under a time brokerage agreement while it's awaiting the greenlight from the FCC. I'm not sure why Lilly would want a station that just have diginets, unless they're trying to snag the ABC affiliate from Stephen Marks (who owns WBUP/WBKP).
  10. WGN did this last year with their old logo. Not only the "W" was blue, but they had a white flag behind it.
  11. Follow-up. The owner of WGSA (Southern TV Corporation) has sold its station to Low Country Media 35, LLC for $1.2M.
  12. Feder did a recent Q&A with Alan Krashesky, as he reaches a milestone at Channel 7.
  13. This is very interesting. Hearst wants to buy Lockwood's WCWG outright. And wants a waiver of the duopoly rule (specifically the eight-voices test) to get the greenlight.
  14. Gray has renewed its CBS affils in all 32 markets.
  15. The Lilly stations are Blacked Out from Dish Network, as of 7pm/ET tonight.
  16. Actually, Pappas sold KAZA in 2010 to former Pappas CEO Dennis Davis, through a company called SCTV, Inc. Azteca continued to carry a 20% interest of the station until the end of 2015, when Davis took the remaining interest.
  17. And that's exactly what happened. After forty-six months, the KRNV/KENV deal - the last of the remnants of the late Jim Rogers' company - was greenlighted today.
  18. Looks like KBEH will be selling the station to the owners of KWHY after all......
  19. And Weigel was granted its greenlight from the FCC yesterday.
  20. They've been airing the 11am news repeat at noon on 7.2 since WCL moved from 11am to 1pm. EDIT: TTYTT, I used to love 7.2 before they added Live Well. When they didn't air alot of ads at the time (late '08-early '09), during the breaks on the news repeats, they would air the classic "People Make A Difference" promos with the 10pm anchors, and later replaced with the "Your News, Your Way" promos.
  21. Follow up. Sinclair has re-upped four more (Portland (ME), Cedar Rapids, Brownsville & Syracuse)
  22. New M&A. Weigel has made TWO more buys. They're acquiring L.A. "spectrum-less" station KAZA from Southern California License, LLC for $9M. They're also getting St. Louis religious station, KNLC from for $3.75M.
  23. Besides College Football and the NBA, ABC don't carry alot of live sports events these days. Whenever sporting events roll after 5pm, the news would be pre-empted. I remember WABC started the new weekend 5pm after ABC cancelled ESPN Sports Saturday. But I do think that these endless hours of news is unnecessary, especially when its hardly any viewership that early on the weekends.
  24. I believe it is. Unless there was another time we didn't know about. You would think after three years, he would fill-in a bit more often. But 9 has a heavy bench of reporters that fill-in anchor from time to time.
