  1. I've noticed there's a heavy reliance on seamless LED paneling throughout the renovated studio. It's like someone saw what Sinclair did with WJLA and said, "Eh. We can do it way better." I do like the faux windows in the background that make it look like they're in a fancy skyscraper somewhere.
  2. You're not wrong, considering Devlin's past work. Speaking of which, they're the one's who designed KWTV's new studio (with Vivid Zero providing new graphics): https://www.griffin.news/story/66e67eb88de4fa23ffadc7b9/news-9-new-studio There's also a hype package for this new look: https://www.facebook.com/GriffinOklahoma/videos/842137537681594/
  3. Confusion and Kansas City go hand-in-hand in that market when you consider WDAF (4) kept getting calls from viewers about KSHB (41) and vice versa.
  4. I know Ravi was probably having flashbacks to another incident that happened live on-air years ago at the State Street Studio.
  5. WYMT is technically joined at this hip to WKYT (simulcasting some of their newscasts), so they'll get a variant of what they have.
  6. The new look can only be seen on their online-only newscast at the moment as it hasn’t debuted on-air just yet. You can, however, see the new logo on their weather subchannel.
  7. The new building is virtually complete at this point - six years after the project was initially announced. In fact, there were articles posted back in February talking about just that and also some anxiety among staffers about the move to 7 Hudson Square: Page Six: https://pagesix.com/2024/02/16/entertainment/abc-news-staffers-on-edge-as-network-prepares-to-move-to-nyc-no-mans-land-hudson-square/ New York YIMBY: https://newyorkyimby.com/2024/02/disney-headquarters-nears-completion-at-7-hudson-square-in-hudson-square-manhattan.html As for your question about ABC News' move-in (as well as that of WABC-TV), unless plans have changed, those operations aren't expected to relocate there until the first half of next year.
  8. So now CBS will be looking for their 5th or 6th anchor for the Evening News in a 20-year span. Is Shepard Smith doing anything? I feel like he would be a good hire at this point if CBS were to go that route.
  9. I wouldn't know the answer to that, and I doubt it has anything to do with Jonesboro being adjacent to the Memphis media market (WMC uses First Alert branding for weather & traffic).
  10. KAIT-TV in Jonesboro, AR made the switch to GrayONE today, and have replaced Inergy with Aerial.
  11. WRCB began broadcasting from their updated studio as of this past Saturday evening.
  12. Yes, hence why Fox re-acquired WITI - part of a deal to get KCPQ/KZJO (Seahawks) - twelve years after offloading it to a private equity group in 2007. They did have to sacrifice another NFC market in Charlotte (WJZY/WMYT) to make it happen though.
  13. I said one of my new favorites. Not that it was better than KWQC. There's a difference.
  14. I'm not gonna post the video because it hasn't made it on-air yet, but WMC-TV could be switching to GrayONE this week, and from what I've seen, from the graphics to the music itself, it's one of my new favorite implementations.
  15. KTVT and WCCO are probably the next ones up to get upgrades.
  16. I remember Lunn from when he worked at WPTY (now WATN)/WLMT, WMC, and most recently KSTP. If the allegations against him are indeed true, that is a huge fall from grace.
  17. WAVE went GrayONE back in mid-March.
  18. WECT went GrayONE as of Noon today.
  19. Someone created a convenient map showing which stations are on GrayONE and which ones are still waiting in the wings. https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer?mid=1LmIglmqEZChaFD9SKBPu1eZBN-_hVxE&ll=38.763369813494634%2C-99.3197914626852&z=5
  20. WRCB Local 3, the Sarkes Tarzian-owned station in Chattanooga, is in the process of replacing their decade-old set and are currently doing their newscasts from temporary setups throughout their building.
  21. You may think that, but the ticker changed with the graphics also. Old look w/ ticker from the previous Meredith graphics: New look w/ new ticker:
  22. In all fairness, they do use a gold color scheme for their Saints coverage/segments. Not so much the entire newscast, which is fine.
  23. I would say about somewhere between 60-70% of Gray's portfolio has yet to flip at this point.
  24. We have a thread for that: Also, welcome to the forum!
