Here are a couple of old clips from when Maury Povich was a news anchor (well before he got his own talk show):

Someone fired shots at the WKRG Studios in Mobile late Tuesday or early Wednesday...
https://www.wkrg.com/news/mobile-county/police-investigate-shots-fired-at-wkrg-building/1284019394
This was likely related to a shooting that happened nearby at the Shoppes of Bel-Air that same night. WKRG's studios are right across the street from there.

Former KOLR sports anchor/reporter Megan Rice was recently hired by WREG to fill a hole in their sports department following Glenn Carver's retirement in February. Her first day on the job was this past weekend:

These are derived from WRAL’s graphics that came out eons ago and eventually updated & used until 2016. I forget who did them... I think it was Hothaus or GO
It was a Giant Octopus job.

WHBQ has hired Elisabeth D'Amore as their newest meteorologist at the station (replacing Lindsey Monroe, who is now a meteorologist at WTHR in Indianapolis). She previously worked at WTVM/WXTX in Columbus, GA. Her first day on the job was yesterday.

That's NOT the real package.
Looking at that now, the poorly-done transitional elements and animation are a dead giveaway of a mock-up compared to the original Linear Drift version.

It appears WNEM has gone back to using knockoffs of other graphics packages. This time, the CBS O&O 2016 graphics.
The font choice ruins it. Then again, WSMV bastardized the current NBC O&O graphics, so what else is new.

So last place?
Come on. They're at least doing better than KSHB. Aren't they?

KERO's current open:
Good grief. That was overkill.

Kelli Cook has crossed the street to WMC in Memphis. She had previously served as weekend anchor/reporter at WATN since 2014. Not sure if she'll be serving in the same role at WMC however, since their weekend anchor team has no vacancies.
There's always the weekday morning shift they can put her on, which seems like Cook's likely destination.

Lester will apparently be reporting from Memphis on Wednesday, April 4, the 50th Anniversary of the MLK Assassination.
Just about all of the media outlets are reporting from Memphis on that day.

KARK has the new website, but more importantly they have a new address!!!! say hello to KARK.com
RIP ArkansasMatters.com
It should also be noted KLRT received the new website as well.

Heartlands WFFT updated their news and weather logo while keeping the old nexstar package. Now know as FoX55, they have the o&o logo while mocking the Tribune logo transition
In the close, you can see the new weather logo. Tell me, where did they get the idea for that logo? ;)
They stole that weather logo from WHBQ.

Forgot to edit this into my previous post. Confirmed as an anchor/reporter! No set schedule for the anchor role just yet, however. (There's more to that thread that besides what's shown below, too)

It should also be noted that the station just hired a new news director named Greg Phillips (formerly from WVUE), who started work at WMC-TV a couple of weeks ago.

Well, I guess all it took was for someone else to ask:
Now it's a game of wait and see. Personally, I wouldn't see her wanting the morning shift with her husband on evenings, so my bet's going on coanchor from 3:30-5. Anything is possible, though.
I just saw her do a news report tonight. Whether that means she'll be a general assignment reporter or an anchor/reporter remains to be seen.

WREG has announced their sports director Glenn Carver is leaving after 30 years at the station. His final sports broadcast is tonight at 10:00.

Steve Greenberg posted a video to Twitter on 2/21 that showed the windows to 1A covered. It maybe nothing, however I don't foresee a full studio overhaul (if any work was done).
They're probably replacing the outdoor monitor panels with new ones, which have been in place since after the 2012 Summer Olympics.

It appears that Nexstar pulled its stations' live streaming from the NewsOn apps and WatchNewsOn.com. It was replaced with "Unfortunately, ____ is no longer available on NewsOn. For ____'s coverage on NewsOn, you can tune into ____." or "We're working to add another station in the area" or a black screen. The stations' logos were replaced by the NewsOn logo.
Bad enough that a lot of the legacy Nexstar stations still don't live stream their newscasts, now this happens. Something tells me they're on the verge of axing the streams altogether next as another one of many many cost-cutting moves by this station group.

About time someone picked up Connection. I wonder if they're slowly transitioning to the blue graphics. WIAT's been using the open (WTNH graphics) since 2014 after the "WIAT 42 News" rebranding.
Parts of it look like the WFLA/WCMH package, which make it look more of a mismatch of consistency.
-
Or WPTV, as that's where they tend to start out.
Not exactly when you consider WCPO was the first station to roll out the package that came out before their current one.
-
was watching WSB this afternoon for the snow coverage. Then they ended the newscast they ran a Cox Media Group ID with Scott Chaplin saying "WSB is a Cox Media Group station". Any other Cox stations doing this?
WHBQ was the first. I believe all of the Cox stations are using the CMG ID as their closer now.

Anyone know what #NexstarAMNewsers is about? It's currently trending on Twitter.
It's self explanatory referring to all of the morning news shows on Nexstar stations.

(Narrator: They didn't win.)
I don't think the person in charge of the graphics was expecting the Chiefs to blow a 21-0 lead when he or she wrote that lower 3rd.

You're not the only one who feels that way. The level of toxicity in our politics today is at a level that has not been seen in a very long time. Fox News, for its part, has been fanning the flames on this even before Trump came into power. It has now become the new normal.
