  1. I know it's not uncommon in larger markets. I guess I'm saying it's not needed, especially since other stations in those markets do just as well with less. And when you have a bigger cast and times get tough, it just makes it harder when you have to let someone go.
  2. I feel like ABC O&Os weekday on-air staffs are bloated in general: WABC - 7 anchors, 2 weather, 1 sports KABC - 7 anchors, 2 weather, 1 sports WLS - 8 anchors (was 9), 4 weather (now 3), 2 sports WPVI - 8 anchors (10 if you count Sharrie Williams and Alicia Viterelli), 4 weather (3 if you don't count Karen Rogers), 2 sports KGO - 6 anchors (NORMAL!!), 3 weather, 1 sports (NORMAL!!) KTRK - 8 anchors, 3 weather, 1 sports No need for a million anchors. 2 anchor teams (4 people) in the evenings, 1 anchor team in the morning (2 people) for a total of 6 people. 1 for weather in the morning/noon, and 1 for 4,5,6, and 10/11, for a total of 2 weather people for weekdays, And you only one sports person needed for evenings. Just my two cents.
  3. http://forums.tvnewstalk.net/index.php?/topic/14449-yankees-moving-back-to-wpix/
  4. George was on WNT with David.
  5. I stand corrected. If it comes back as GAA, it almost has to be time shifted because of the title. Anyway, I think at this point most of the reports are also speculatory.
  6. I think the previous commentator is aware that the comments are just our thoughts and nothing more. While you are correct that some of us have speculated, I don't think the time slot has been confirmed. Not saying a replacement show won't air at 11am, but the reports only say "it is likely to replace The View", not that "it is likely to replace The View at 11am".
  7. Or maybe the third hour of GMA goes to 9am, Live with Kelly & Michael moves to 10am (for those who carry it) and whatever syndicated program is at 10am (Rachel Ray) moves to 11am. Kind of surprised they didn't take back the "Katie" hour to add to GMA. I don't think "The F.A.B." will do any better as a replacement for "Katie". I think "The View" has more worth than "The F.A.B." does.
  8. Rumor has it being a male and either Ryan Smith or TJ Holmes.
  9. It seems that the past few weekends have been Cecelia on Saturdays and Tom on Sundays.
  10. I have a feeling they are going to continue rotating/testing people for a while, and may end up going with two different people, one for each day, although I think it's better if they go with one.
  11. WCAU too.
  12. Wasn't the 11am team on from 1992 to 2013? And I believe the 4pm team has had a long tenure as well.
  13. How about one of DC's news icons on DC's #1 station for news? 11am co-anchor on WRC with Barbara Harrison? But they have too many anchors as it is!
  14. Sibilia and Shiba on at 11pm together tonight. I kind of liked it!
  15. Trying not to complain, but I've noticed as of late that cross-posting is happening quite a bit. Isn't it better to pick the best thread for it and just stick it there? Or at least if it's gonna be double posted, change it up a bit so that it's tied more specifically to each thread. And pure speculation (with not even an ounce of fact such as the above) should be kept in speculatron forum. Just my two cents...
  16. Interestingly enough, Kai was co-anchoring today on WJLA's noon news (I assume the morning news as well).
  17. Just an observation, Shirleen was in for Sarah Sunday night. In the past, Walter has usually flyed solo when Sarah has been off.
  18. It just seemed like you were questioning my initial post, as if I was imagining things or making them up. I am sorry if I misinterpreted what you were trying to say.
  19. And next weekend will be two nights of WNT weekend (at least in eastern/central) as I believe there is no 3:30 college football game on ABC.
  20. I think at the time he anchored weekend mornings was during the era where CBS3 had cut Saturday mornings. He may have left before Saturday mornings returned. As for filling in, he's filled in for Ukee weekday mornings and also for Natasha on weekend evenings. Regardless of what you "found", I live in the Philly DMA and have seen it with my own eyes.
  21. He was actually a anchor/reporter in Philly. He anchored weekend mornings and was a fill-in on weekday mornings.
  22. Already made that observation.
  23. I've read that CBS O&Os may pick up Hot Bench as a replacement. Could also see WBBM airing The Insider with a second showing of ET, Millionaire, or even Inside Edition (yes I know WLS has a had it forever). As for WLS, I wonder if they would end up cutting more news to make room for The F.A.B.? Like moving Jeopardy to 4:30, and dumping Inside Edition, or moving it to either 11:30am or 12midnight.
  24. I think CBS struck some kind of deal that the remaining Thursday games be aired locally by the CBS affiliates.
  25. Yes, I would not want to do that. But not sure where you got the idea that I was implying that, as I am fairly certain that Sharrie only works Monday thru Friday currently. So adding the Friday noon is not adding an additional day. Adding Saturday evenings would make it a six day work week (not seven), but they could give her off Mondays so that she would remain at 5 days per week.
