  1. Officially, I can breath underwater. On paper I have gills.
  2. They didn't change it. They're ignoring it.
  3. Completely agreed with you!
  4. If anything, it will be a breakup like the breakup of the original All Telephone & Telegraph.
  5. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/nexstar-closes-tegna-deal-creating-local-tv-giant-1236541636/ "With the greenlight, Nexstar will begin integrating Tegna into its operations. Although the lawsuits from the states and DirecTV pose a threat, courts have historically been more open to stopping a deal rather than unwinding one." I've contacted my AG directly.
  6. I’m sorry, but this is wholly fucked. Nobody with a straight face can pretend this serves the viewer. What it does serve is debt structures, investor appetites, and the same consolidation treadmill that’s been shredding local news for decades. Every time one of these mega-deals goes through, newsrooms shrink, investigative coverage dies off, and more “local” stations start parroting the same pre-packaged garbage. Carr’s statement is pure, Grade A bullshit. The idea that this somehow helps local broadcasters “compete” with tech companies is laughable. Google and Facebook don’t produce journalism. They host distribution networks. Nexstar and Tegna are supposed to create the journalism those platforms amplify. But instead of reinvesting in actual reporting, they’ll gut staff and load up on syndicated filler while pretending it’s innovation. This isn’t modernization. It’s cannibalization, and we’re watching what’s left of local news get carved up for parts.
  7. It's just set dressing. If Nexstar owns Tegna. Then they'll own KUSI, KFMB and KSWB.
  8. Charlie Van Dyke is sounding horse. I think it's time he's finally replaced. The grays and blues of this set are similar to KNBC's set which I don't like either. If only they would use the stairs. I hate when they're added as a set element, but not actually included within production. With the music, set and logo, it feels like ABC is unifying under the NYC aesthetic, which I can't say that I like much.
  9. Pixel Lens? It's a dot-matrix.
  10. No. It's the same package.
  11. Nah. Just consolidation, but the branding is too powerful.
  12. I think the other way around. CBS on CNN. Which does Trump hate more? lol
  13. My point is that this could be a contention for renegotiation of lower contractual obligations because CBS no longer demands the same key demo ratings.
  14. Were stations promised certain certain ratings for CBS News programs and are now losing revenue to due Bari Wiess's decisions?
  15. Are CBS stations going to sue? Probably not. They are owned by Conservatives who don't mind lighting money on fire.
  16. So are TEGNA's new graphics. But they are super super cheap. We'll eventually get to power point slides, when all creative departments are laid off.
  17. And ruled illegal. Standard General acquisition 2.0, as far TEGNA is concerned.
  18. They need Voice Over imaging and this package needs texture. It's so flat and frankly could be put together in an hour on AE.
  19. Backups? Is there some sort of SSA or simulcast agreement? Or is WBGU going to act as a translator?
  20. That's why they're all incels too.
  21. Are they going to start allowing cigars in the newsroom room again?
  22. Welcome to budget cuts where "service-able" is how things get accomplished.
  23. This looks so bizarre to me... The text seems to have varying depth making it look like it's scooped.
