  1. I mean, this is what the Scripps package should be and what the Fox O&Os should be using too. Granted I don't like the modern flat era at all, but this makes it palatable.
  2. I wish KUSA's set was this bright and large. Since DBL is ending, maybe 9 will move their set over to the DBL studio, which, I think it larger? I could be wrong.
  3. Late to the party. Should have changed from Gray Communications Systems to Gray Media.
  4. That's a TINY little studio. Goochy goo!
  5. That feels A. Very European. B. Super cheap.
  6. It's an LMA. It's what Nexstar does for Mission stations, especially WPIX, but because it's only one station, instead of all of them it flies under the radar.
  7. What do you mean, "6 new sets"?

  9. A little brag about this story. My grandfather was an anchor at KLZ in the pink building.
  10. Produce more sequels for Top Gun, Terminator, the Star Trek movie franchise (which would be wholly owned by Ellison now), G.I. Joe, etc. Looking at the Skydance roster of Television series, I am wondering if David Ellison will shutter Paramount+ and pivot the Paramount content to other streamers with relevant relationships, especially Netflix, Prime and and Apple Studios, he'll relaunch Paramount+ as Skydance+ or he'll keep it as it is, which is having select content keyed for Paramount+ while using the Skydance brand to shop content to other streamers. Given how saturated the streaming market is I also think dissolving Paramount+ and creating some sort of hubbed agreement, like Paramount+ on Netflix, a marketing arrangement of a store-in-store retail concept might be interesting.
  11. I didn't say that it would be sold Rusty Muck. I think RedBird Capital Partners and/or KKR will take over primary management. Remember, Skydances' controlling interest is David Ellison, but they have several minority partners that could easily assume control of various Paramount Global Assets, though not directly through a sale, but an exchange of cash/equity whereby they assume greater controlling assets for which Ellison has no strategic value. I wouldn't call that a sale, per se.
  12. I suspect the company, regardless of what Skydance says, will be split. CBS and Paramount will go different directions.
  13. See!!! I'm prescient as f*ck.
  14. I was familiar with him, but didn't think he was God's gift to Journalism or anything.
  15. KMGH disfranchised from First Alert Weather a few years ago and now use "Denver7 Weather" and then KCNC switched to it, which is still something I hate. It's like calling everything Breaking News. Next Weather is great branding, imo. Weather Impact sounds like consulting lingo. #ThisIsTEGNA.
  16. Yes. But the building is mostly ready to rock.
  17. It's a former WeWork building. It's already been heavily modernized. The studio feels very PBS NewsHour, imo. Possibly, but they haven't exited their old studio yet. Except for the desk, I don't know what else they've brought over.
  18. I can ask. I know the ND.
  19. Better than "the Shart", I suppose.
  20. Just more so a comment on there being soooo many screens, which add what? What do you call this desk? KDKA uses the first occurrence of it, but I don't know what to call it. RE WTMJ:
  21. Per another video posted by Danielle Grant
  22. A few years back, Scripps sold KMGH's building on Spear built in the 1970s (https://denverprblog.com/2022/07/14/denver7-planning-move-to-rino/). The new studio, located at 2323 Delgany Street, Denver, CO is ready, as indicated by these pictures: I've noticed that KMGH is using the original anchor desk from their DDG set from 2014 - as demo'd in Brian Sander's Exit video. Although the anchor desk was replaced for a seated desk (KDKA's design) in 2015, as you can tell by this photo, it was moved to the new studio. So that anchor desk is already 9 years old. That's more so commentary on Scripps willingness to spend money on any new set. Also, in comparison to the anchor desk from 2014, from the 'other website', it looks like the two front monitor panels were replaced with seamless LED video panels, which provides it a sold, horizonal flow, and no vertical break where I center logo might be cut in half with a black line (seen below). However, it seems like this new set has fewer architectural elements than many other sets have. Where here, video walls are the focal points for standups, with only a few duratrans or flats are designed to hold the monitor panels. So quite minimalist. What are your thoughts on what we see so far? I'll add more visuals as they become available.
  23. This is PBS news.
