  1. Makes sense considering the ratings over the last few weeks. Interested to see how the show develops over the new year. I expected NBC to go outside of the network for a big star similar to how they poached Meredith from The View.
  2. Going off of your usual grammatically incorrect laden post, I’m going to assume you didn’t comprehend what I said. My comment talked about the majority of morning television viewers, not the majority of Americans overall. Also, all three morning programs have been losing viewers by the millions. Really not sure that a personal attack on Robin Roberts was called for. Although it’s quite funny because she isn’t supposed to do anything for men. The morning programs are targeted towards middle aged mothers, not men. This wasn’t even a comparison between Robin and Savannah, it was a statement that Savannah is one of the weakest anchors the Today Show has ever had - in my opinion. Ratings success could easily be because of Hoda and not Savannah.
  3. Well the show has been languished in second place since she got there up until a few weeks ago. The ratings change could be a testament to Hoda and not Savanah. So like I said, she doesn’t do a damn thing for me. And for the last 6 years, save for the past 4 weeks, she hasn’t done anything for a majority of American morning TV viewers either.
  4. I really don’t like Savannah and believe she’s one of the weakest personalities to grace the show since Jim Hartz. She just doesn’t do a damn thing for me. Megan would be an awesome addition to the program so I agree with what you’ve said. Her and Brian could be magical. Also to the above poster, Today has built their most successful years off of making their anchors the stars of the show. I don’t really expect them to move away from that winning formula.
  5. I’ve been wondering how they would do that when Matt Lauer has been apart of almost every major news story featured on the show before his termination.
  6. I’m thinking (and hoping) he’s mistaking David Bloom with David Gregory. Especially since there was an article out earlier this week that Matt was behind Gregory, Elliott and a few others being pushed out from NBC as to protect his spot on the Today Show.
  7. I’m more surprised that they’re just now making this move. Most large markets have been 4:30 a.m. starts for the better part of a decade now.
  8. When the heck did he join the show?
  9. I like Megyn Kelly - a lot. I know I don’t represent everyone but I would definitely watch Today with her at the helm. She’s that good.
  10. LOL. Sad as it may be, so many people still don’t realize that PR is a part of the U.S. even if it’s not geographically connected. Hawaii too
  11. KTRK in Houston is really bad about opening every newscast with “breaking news”
  12. It’s somewhat amusing seeing all the people keeping tabs on every single thing that goes wrong in the program. Geez
  13. I'm really hoping Megyn succeeds in her role with NBC and Today. They should push that awful Savannah Guthrie out and let Megyn have it.
  14. Isn't Sheinelle also the co-anchor of Saturday Today?
  15. Sure did. I like Matt in the field or on WNT, he doesn't have the right chemistry with others to make him valuable on morning tv.
  16. Taking Rosanna and Greg national in the morning would be an epic fail. Rosanna resonates very well with New Yorkers but that charm may be lost on everyone else around the country.
  17. That seems about right. WGN's 5,6 and 9 pm newscasts are an hour long each right? 3 1/2 hours of news has to be exhausting.
  18. Is Mark even if retirement age? He sure doesn't look like it.
  19. I think WAGA still does Newsedge as well.
  20. Isn't "Newsedge" how several FOX O&O's brand their 11/10 p.m. newscasts?
  21. Damn. This does suck. He was great on GMA when they actually let him on TV and I prefer him over Michael almost a thousand times over.
  22. Damn it, it has to be Casey Curry. Travis does great with the morning team and he's probably in line for Tim Heller's spot. The weather team is so great though I wish they wouldn't change it.
  23. I really hate the NBC O&O graphics mandate. Hideous.
  24. I understand the break built in for local stations to air their advertisements and news updates. I'm going to say those :25 and :55 minute updates through the show take about two minutes on my local ABC and NBC stations here in Houston. That rest of the 3 minutes is advertisement. My focus is mainly that the advertisements are way too many. Hell they even advertise to you for 30-60 seconds before doing the weather.
  25. There's this crazed obsession that the content of the morning shows is what's driving away viewers. However, I really believe that people are turned off by the constant commercial breaks. For GMA after the first 20 minutes of the program, they take a 10 minute break. Then another 8 minute break at 7:50. The show itself ends at about 8:55 to allow for another 5 minutes of advertising. The content isn't good enough on any of those shows to warrant sitting through an hour of commercials.
