  1. To be honest I don't mind that they toned down the celebration this time, it's redundant to bring everyone back for every single anniversary. 60 years was a huge celebration and it would look awkward to that over again only 5 years later. Completely agree on the pessimistic feelings towards the future of the show though. That was painful
  2. Last week with Katie was exceptional, her and Matt just have that natural chemistry between the two of them. So far with Meredith, it's just not there. She wasn't a natural like Katie is and it's almost like she really doesn't want to be there. I understand that Matt and Meredith's chemistry with one another was always different than what he had with Katie but I don't remember it being this bad. All morning it's Matt making jokes and Meredith just sort of laughs and continues reading the prompter. Monday, she was so agitated by standing outside of Studio 1A in the cold and was making it very apparent. Ehh.
  3. She literally is made for this role, she and Matt picked right back up where they'd left off in 2006.
  4. Let's hope they stick with this method and continue to fall behind in the ratings then maybe they'll wise up and ditch this shitty format.
  5. So while you're speaking of revisioning history... why don't you do yourself a favor and read the damn book in which Stelter explains how Matt worked with Jim Bell to have Ann ousted. Don't demean Matt by undermining his backstabbing actions, he and Jim Bell were the two leaders in the outing Curry coalition. I may dislike Lauer but I will use facts to back that up, don't challenge me on that.
  6. Yeah I had hoped that this was only temporary as it just doesn't look right coming from the CTM studio. Not the right look for a flagship evening broadcast.
  7. NBC doesn't seem to think so...
  8. Actually quite the opposite, Matt was one of the main culprits behind Ann's firing. It's covered extensively in Brian Stelter's book exactly how it all went down.
  9. This is so stupid, the Michael experiment isn't working. Watching their post election coverage and cringing at him trying to ask and report on serious political issues.
  10. We actually don't know that they didn't.
  11. I'd be quite happy actually if that happened. It would mean I could go back to watching the same morning television program I've watched most of my life ha!
  12. I doubt NBC is ready to get rid of Lauer as he seems to be considered one of their greatest assets, so I say he leaves if he's ready to. Which leads me to wonder, how is he not tired of doing this show after 20 years? No cast change could really make me watch Today honestly unless they replace Savannah as well. She just doesn't have the same "it" that Jane, Katie and Meredith had.
  13. Lol I'm glad Billy Bush is without a job but him leaving does nothing to lessen the fact that GMA is awful.
  14. Have I engaged in locker room talk? Yes, we all have. I've never done it while on the job where it could come back and haunt me or my employer professionally. So while I acknowledge the efforts to deemphasize this situation by saying we've all done, it's just not the same thing.
  15. Billy Bush has been nothing but a headache. Typical douche
  16. I don't think that Bryant, Jane and John ever anchored together in Studio 1A.
  17. Did not realize that stations still preempted CTM as I thought the network made a mandate upon the shows inception that it be carried in its entirety. KHOU, the Houston CBS affiliate, would stay on air past 7am handing it over to The Early Show for a few stories, then continue a mix of 11 News and The Early Show from about 7:15-7:45 when it was solely 11 News until 8am when they tossed it to the last hour of The Early Show. Always thought it was formatted weirdly.
  18. Granted, but there are some things that we've known for years and those things won't change I fear. Like the fact that Michael's chemistry seems forced with everyone but Robin, he stumbles over every other word, his delivery on GMA is like a dear caught in the headlights ("umm okay" "uhh alright coming up" "oh okay here's a look at..."), and most of all the fact that he's being forced into actual news stories when he lacks any journalistic qualities. I've always felt that one of the morning programs should have a dedicated sports anchor, why not create a position like that for Michael? It's painful watching him sit with the big boys and girls and pretend that he's on the same level as George or even Robin, I mean at least with Lara she just sits there during serious news topics. Also, Lisa McRee and Kevin Newman turned out be disastrous for the program but even that era of GMA had lots of integrity led by journalist who were capable of displaying enough personality for the program. Michael's missing at least one of those.
  19. No doubt in my mind this show ratings success is toast. Robin and George don't look comfortable even a little bit with the new anchor format so the viewers will most definitely agree. This has to be the dumbest decision anyone has ever made in regards to GMA.
  20. Quite frankly I'm finding it all hard to watch. Michael is just not good, where as Jesse Palmer was really good. Watching George, Robin and Michael open the show is painful, it's like as if they know this is just as bad as it looks on TV.
  21. Because similar to Lara's short stint a few years ago, Michael is an official co-host of the program equal to Robin and George.
  22. Second floor set is a replica of the first floor with all the wood but looks pretty nice.
  23. CTM just announced that they'll be broadcasting from the African American History museum next Monday with limited commercial interruptions. A first for morning TV?
  24. Forgive me but this always annoys the crap out of me.. GMA and Today are essentially the exact same program with different personalities. How is it possible that you're capable of tolerating one but hate the other one for the exact same thing? I guess my issue with it is because people seem to give TODAY a pass for their constant Kardashin, Duggars, and Hollywood drivel while railing against GMA for providing the same content? Both shows should fail, I think they're both garbage.
  25. I guess it's somewhat intriguing but for a studio audience with another co-anchor why didn't Michael just stay at LIVE?
