How has that affected your ratings?

KSHB Creative Services Director was arrested on July 4th for domestic battery, but the show went on without him for a promo shoot they recently had. Unlikely KSHB will report it, but it's likely a new position will open up over there.. http://www.ftvlive.com/todays-news/2016/7/8/scripps-creative-services-director-busted-for-domestic-battery

Missouri? What would they have been doing in Missouri? Otherwise I agree with you. Report on what's happening, but don't meddle in it to the point of compromising law enforcement activity that's to genuinely benefit the public.

In a weird move, Topeka's KSNT news director Al Carl is moving to WISH-TV to serve in the same position. I haven't heard particularly glowing reviews of the man.
-
Hi, this is the FCC. We need to take back your broadcast license for that comment.
-
I don't think Scripps would let anyone buy them...they're too ambitious of a company with too much history.

The continual bleeding that is KSHB continues. It seems that traffic reporter Kacie McDonnell will be leaving the station soon given a posting for traffic reporter online. This is just days after Kalee Dionne announced she was moving to Chicago to join WMAQ. I wonder if there will be a change in management soon. The turnover there the past few years has been ridiculous, and the ratings haven't improved.

Well the trend definitely seems to be only having a few mega-broadcast corporations. I'm curious to see how this turns out and if Nexstar will have bitten off more than it can true. Operating nearly 100 newsrooms seems like a gargantuan task and some stations are going to be either forgotten about or placed way low on the totem pole, which is highly unfortunate.
-
So let me get this straight, Nexstar owns so many stations that their acquisition of Media General to get even more stations will put them over the limit for the number of stations a company can own, so they'll have to sell stations in order to acquire MG in order to get more stations in the end?

She'll be working weekday mornings
-
Lol of course she's leaving. She was half the reason their morning show was on the up and up. It's a far better gig for her though. But geez...Lindsey Anderson, her replacement, has only been out of school for three years? KSHB can do better than that.
-
KSHB did something similar. Spoiler alert: it didn't help. at all.
-
well that's too bad. i'm rather fond of Natalie
-
I'm curious to know how much they're not paying her and who she beat out. I've never seen her stuff, so I'm not going to act like she isn't qualified or anything, but it's certainly a surprise given what market she's coming from.
-
Talk about a jump. St. Joseph, MO meteorologist Angie Lassman is moving from KNPN...to WTVJ in Miami. She's going from market 201 to 16. http://kcradio.robzerwekh.com/

That's a good way to rate hashmarks. Knowing Scripps, they'd still find some way to call it a success.

Petty drama is petty. http://www.ftvlive.com/todays-news/2016/4/19/kc-traffic-reporter-pulls-sexy-video-emails-ftvlive

You know you could have reported that right?
-
I was more focused on his near obnoxious presentation...I don't like it.
-
While it's just a concern by some people within, so basically a rumor, why the hell would they even think about just completely ending the weekend version of CBS Evening News? That seems less than smart.
-
oh hey a fellow meteorology student. Frankly, I don't see why an area like Chicago would need such powerful radars. A market like Oklahoma City or Tulsa would make far more sense to me, but that's just my opinion.

KSHB anchor Christa Dubill says that someone was trying to record an up-skirt video of her in the grocery store. The police are investigating. http://www.ftvlive.com/todays-news/2016/2/29/anchor-catches-man-taking-upskirt-pictures-of-her

This probably wasn't the smartest thing to do. http://1023blakefm.com/tv-news-anchor-advocates-not-watching-tv/

Looks like Scripps really isn't doing so hot.. http://www.cnbc.com/2016/02/26/the-associated-press-ew-scripps-reports-4q-loss.html It's also ironic. Scripps was so CHEAP that they went off and made all sorts of decisions in an attempt to save money and eventually generate it, yet here they are now LOSING money and the company value on a steady decline. I wonder what their excuse will be this time? Their shows, like The Now, The List, etc., aren't working and have damaged many of their stations. It's all but destroyed KSHB in Kansas City. So if it continues to fail, why stick with it?
