  1. All the anchors are saying log on to abc7ny.com

Not even. They're just saying "...you can find it on ABC7NY" or some other variation. It sounds quite stupid, really. Makes you wonder who it was that thought it would be a good idea. At least 7online had the word "online" in it. At least say "You can find it at ABC7NY online" or something like that.
  2. All of this chaos can be traced back to Anne Sweeney. If she hadn't insisted on bringing Rosie O'Donnell back, half of the behind-the-scenes drama would have been avoided, and Bill Getty would still be calling the shots. If Getty were still here, Wolff wouldn't have been around to hire random misfits like Perez who had no place on the show from the get-go and Wallace who, despite being quite intelligent and articulate, is by no means a firebrand that the show needs in order to generate buzz. By the way, they knew that going in with Nicole. They (for some odd reason to me) wanted someone less incendiary than Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Hasselbeck had conviction, ignited debate, and made for good TV. Sure, her views differed from most of the show's audience, but they still watched in order to disagree with her. ABC decided they wanted someone who wouldn't fan the flames so the panel could get along until happily ever after. Clearly that strategy backfired as the reports are citing Wallace's lack of passion as a reason for her removal.

It's a shame, really. The best thing that could happen to that show would be the return of Joy Behar and Sherri Shepherd.

  3. I find it interesting the Shirleen is filling in for Lori now. That pushes Michelle Charlesworth out of the way, I wonder how she feels about all of this.

Losing Michele would be a big loss for WABC.

Michelle was never exactly the main fill-in for Lori. Don't forget that Lisa Colagrossi subbed for Lori quite often. So, just because Shirleen has subbed for her once doesn't mean Michelle is out of that picture completely. Moreover, for all we know Michelle doesn't like filling in in the morning. It means she has to start work at 3 AM, whereas on a normal day she reports for the afternoon shows.
  4.

Diana did her Sunday show from the Live studio.

I thought the show looked much better from the Live studio than from the Eyewitness News studio. The spot it usually is filmed from feels dark and cold (and overly blue). The Live set felt much more balanced and wholesome (as opposed to being crammed into a corner of the studio in an ad-hoc way).
  5. In the comments on his Facebook video, Ken confirmed that both he and Lori are leaving the noon show. The reasoning he gave, which is consistent with what some of us suggested earlier, was that "it was just a very long day for Lori and me (2:30am to 1:30pm)." He indicates that he and Lori will remain together on the morning broadcast.

He didn't say anything about Bill leaving the noon, though.

  6. You know, it just occurred to me: Lori was part of the promo shoot just two days ago for WABC + GMA in the morning. If she was leaving the morning show soon, I doubt she would have been part of that. So, perhaps (at least for now), Lori is just ceding the noon show. As has been mentioned early, that doesn't rule out the possibility that additional changes take place after Shirleen has sat at the desk at noon for several months.

  7.

Today is the last day of Ken and Lori at noon (reportedly) I wonder if anything will be mentioned even if it's just one of them leaving the noon show.

Did you read that somewhere or are you just assuming? I know Shirleen's first day at WABC was reported to be June 1 but, unless it's been reported otherwise since, I doubt she'll start anchoring on Monday. I'm guessing she'll get a few days to become oriented to the station, then she'll be sent out into the field just to do reporting on air for a couple weeks, and then they'll pop her in the anchor chair. That's what has happened in the past for both Rob Nelson and David Novarro.
  8.

Seems on Twitter that she will be anchoring at noon... Not sure who shes replacing on that broadcast, or if it will be a whole new team at that time.

3 am to 1 pm is a long day for Ken and Lori. I could see the noon show becoming Shirleen and David Novarro, although if the point was to take Ken and Lori off the noon show, I don't know why they couldn't just have David and Liz Cho take it over.

  9. This could be complete coincidence, but it does seem that Camille Edwards has been making an effort to diversify WABC talent. Three of her last four hires (Drey Clark, AJ Ross, and Shirleen Allicot) have all been Black. Three of the last four (AJ, Shirleen, and Renee Stoll) are also all women.

  10. My initial suspicion was that whoever provided the video to NBC did it on the condition that they keep that courtesy graphic in the video when airing it (as in, the people who gave the video over to the media put the courtesy graphic in, not NBC).

  11. Has anyone heard or seen any recently developments regarding newsroom construction? I think it was supposed to be done around now give or take a month. The recent pics I've seen show all of the newsroom staff still cramped together at those makeshift desks.

  12.

Lisa Colagrossi was taken off life support this morning after suffering from a brain aneurysm last night. A native of Cleveland, she was 49.

As mentioned in the other thread, there are no credible reports as of right now substantiating the claim that she has died.
