  1. Exactly what I was thinking
  2. WBTV’s Molly Grantham just announced on the 11:00 news she is expecting baby #3 in July! She told her kids last night. Good for them.
  3. Sounds like she is staying
  4. Brigida Mack, formerly of WBTV, just announced she is jumping to rival WJZY. She will soon be working for Nexstar. https://twitter.com/brigidamack/status/1215728675108413440?s=21 She’s the second former WBTV employee to jump to a rival in the past several months, the first being Ashley Strohlein to WCNC
  5. Circle is on WBTV 3.3, bumping Grit to 3.4.
  6. Especially since they had planned to start news anyway as a Fox affiliate before WAGA took the affiliation. And 4 years later CBS regained the NFL.
  7. Yep, WBTV would probably have been forced to take NBC. They could’ve ended up with Fox though.
  8. WSB switched from NBC to ABC a couple years after sister station WSOC in Charlotte did, however NBC went to WCNC (then WRET) instead of outgoing ABC affiliate WCCB thanks to Ted Turner. He sold out to Group W a few years later and WRET ended up pretty much shutting down their news department and canceling NBC Nightly News for a while. I’d say ABC got the better end of that deal in Charlotte. Probably would have even if NBC had picked WCCB though.
  9. @TheRolyPoly
  10. https://changingnewscasts.wordpress.com/2019/11/ WFMY is actually airing CBS This Morning in pattern now as of today! Never thought I’d see the day! The Good Morning Show now ends at 7am. Thought they would move 7-10am to 2.2. They also add a 4pm newscast. Sad part is, no more Andy Griffith. Ellen moves to 9 am. And 2 Wants to Know just becomes a regular 5:30 newscast.
  11. I just checked out the listings, it will be midnight to 2am. Jeopardy will follow the 10:00 news at 11, followed by Live PD: Police Patrol at 11:30.
  12. Yeah I thought it was kinda funny myself!
  13. Now that’s more like it
  14. That is horrible and I get to use the dislike button on here for the first time.
  15. https://deadline.com/2019/11/fox-adds-tv-stations-in-seattle-and-milwaukee-in-350m-deal-with-nexstar-1202778453/ Bumped for the station swap with Nexstar, even though it is already In the Nexstar thread
  16. The exodus continues at WBTV. Brigida Mack is out after 10 years.
  17. Thoughts and prayers go out to everyone!
  18. Major news out of Charlotte...Ashley Strohlein is moving from WBTV to WCNC! Taking Kelsey Riggs’ position! I feel like she should have got Delano’s spot. She will also be a CUSA reporter on the NFL Network Congratulations Ashley!
  19. Chandler Morgan promoted to weekend evening anchor at WBTV. Good for her.
  20. Actually the Pacific Time Zone follows the Central/Mountain daytime pattern so B&B usually airs at 12:30 in that time zone as well. Or 11, depending on if their news airs at noon.
  21. I stand corrected about WCNC. I didn’t look at 6am when I viewed the Titan TV guide. And I didn’t realize WSOC’s started that early too.
  22. I can see WBTV taking advantage of this by extending its Saturday morning news to 9am, pushing CBS This Morning Saturday to 9am-11am, and/or adding Sunday morning news from 7-8am. WSOC could expand their Saturday newscast as well and WCNC could add a Saturday newscast. Currently they do not have one at all. And this would be a good opportunity for WJZY to expand Good Day Charlotte to 9am on Saturdays.
  23. Beat me to it. Much respect to Gray for restoring an old tradition.
  24. Kelsey Riggs leaving WCNC for the ACC Network. https://espnpressroom.com/us/press-releases/2019/05/100-days-from-launch-first-three-weeks-of-football-on-acc-network-released-announcers-cotter-herzlich-riggs-and-wood-added-to-roster/j Good for her! She will be missed at WCNC.
  25. WMYT began delaying its programming to 11pm to 1am in September in favor of Modern Family, Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men reruns. Can’t really blame them even if it is Fox O&O market.
