  1. I also got the impression that Hilton Howell's letter was a middle finger to the Tegna board.
  2. I'm guessing at least some of the non-Gray stations will air it, particularly those owned by independents or those who don't have significant overlap with Gray.
  3. Better yet, just wait for things to get better and see if better offers come.
  4. I wonder if others step in, like Scripps? Also stock prices will likely recover after the COVID-19 crisis ends.
  5. There's probably room on 6.5 since stations haven't been afraid to use them lately. That seems most likely in Portland IMO. I can certainly see Tegna placing it on more of their stations in markets where Gray is absent.
  6. I know quite a number of Tegna stations have added it in markets where Gray is absent. I know they did a joint venture over the OTT partnership, so there may be good relations between them.
  7. A bit surprising they would work together, since they are direct competition in a large number of markets (I count at least 17), although in Tucson they inherited partnerships that already existed.
  8. Is there any way WRDW/WAGT can get the new Gray graphics? Their current graphics are terrible (especially with weather), probably the worst of any Gray-owned station. Then again, that has always been one of the weakest stations in their portfolio.
  9. That seemed like the most likely path for it too, since Meredith and Gray have very little overlap - they seem like companies that can work together more easily.
  10. The Gray-owned Circle network is now available in Nashville and in many other Meredith markets (not all of them yet, but it's a big move for Gray to add their channel in other markets). https://musicrow.com/2020/02/circle-launches-in-nashville-on-wsmv/
  11. That button is so Morgan Murphy...
  12. We're in Speculatron territory though?
  13. In other words, giving a middle finger to Mr. Kim. Smart move there to fight off corporate bullying.
  14. It seems Soo Kim is being a bully here.
  15. We're talking two different companies though, since Soo Kim has no connection to the current "Standard Media".
  16. Weigel and Gray seem to have got along quite well too. I know, except in South Bend where Gray already owns WNDU, all their stations also run Greta's show and they may have news connections to them too.
  17. They may be getting a new set later? WLOX is also uber-dominant.
  18. I also wonder if the Gray legacy stations will get the Raycom 2018 layout? AFAIK, none have changed to it.
  19. What stations have NOT gone full Gray yet?
  20. I know in Charleston, WCSC blows everyone else out of the water and always has. WIS is still way ahead of WLTX in Columbia, correct?
  21. Not surprised there since CBS and Gray seem to get along really well.
  22. The lack of any real competition in the market could be one reason.
  23. Have the other Gray recent acquisitions like WWNY and KEYC changed to these packages as well? I know we talk a lot on the ex-Raycom stations.
  24. Probably fearing a cable or online all-local news channel in Atlanta? I know there aren't any right now.
