  1. Rightfully get reamed or take a selfie?
  2. Looks kinda small market don't you think?
  3. I'd go 4... 5 seems optimistic... Still that's a TON of people.
  4. You guys know how to party...
  5. I gotcha... I figured Ravi might have the night off... With Hosea only doing that 7pm show I suppose it makes him fairly flexible if need be. That's actually a pretty nice option to have.
  6. Why him though?
  7. For the Hawks game 7? Heard from someone in the city folks were launching fireworks when they won.
  8. Dr. Sandy Goldberg is leaving NBC 5. She did weekly medical reports for the station under the "Food For Thought" banner. Anyway she is leaving to focus on her charity, A Silver Lining Foundation. She joined WMAQ in 1994. http://chicagoradioandmedia.com/news/7432-dr-sandy-goldberg-exiting-nbc-5
  9. Without tone it looks a little heavy handed...
  10. WABC doesn't have the worlds best graphics...
  11. Matt Knutson is in as EP of Windy City Live. He's been a producer on the show since 2011. http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/wls-names-ep-for-windy-city-live/148772
  12. Reporting isn't that hard.... You ask questions and do research... This was not one of those times apparently... What a joke.
  13. WJBK has been named the "Detroit Lions Television Partner" for the next few seasons replacing WXYZ which opted out last month. http://www.myfoxdetroit.com/story/29123076/lions-preseason-games-to-air-on-fox-2
  14. NBC 5 by comparison had an impressive book... where'd the numbers come from anyways? Edit: Nevermind, found the article in the sweeps thread.
  15. They lost in the demo so that's a problem, it was a 0.4 swing to 5's favor. They also appear to be losing old folks in droves... This was not a very good book for ABC 7.
  16. Another EP is supposedly out at 32, this time it's Jennifer Vander Sanden. http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/wfld-executive-producer-reportedly-out/148777 She started as a morning producer in 2012 and been an EP since 2014.
  17. It's probably getting the press because 7 is so dominate in EVERYTHING that even one little win perks people like Feder up. Definitely spices up what can be at times a dull thing. Personally I'm glad to see this... Whether it lasts or not is a totally different thing... It probably won't if past history repeats itself.
  18. 7 is very nervous...
  19. I love the fact that someone else is gonna claim #1 In something and it's name isn't WLS. 7 did indeed go commercial free for the first 20 minutes at 10 Monday too.
  20. Wow.... They got the same idea... Interesting.
  21. Um... oops?
  22. Huh... that's interesting... certainly rare for a station to do this but a definite "we just need a few more points" kind of move. That makes me feel better about why WXYZ has done that the past two Sunday nights in this sweeps. I wonder if 5 and 7 will wind up tied this time around? My prediction: NBC 5 didn't do that too.
  23. I suppose winning the lottery and ponying UP the $30,000 a month might be the answer.. Then they'd probably hate somebody putting numbers out there. It's too bad they don't tout their status as much as they used too... You'd think with the growing news presence on local TV they'd be doing it more and more...
  24. It's more fun when everyone is firing on all cylinders. One of the things I notice for better or worse is that press releases and "#1 at 10" will often cite households to make their claims. They only give the demo numbers they win otherwise. So because it's so much easier to get the totals it's easier to quantify the state of the race that way. Feder gives us demos so that's helpful but ratings data in Chicago is harder to come by than some other places like Detroit where the winning station always puts out a press release hitting its close 2nd rival over the head. I've noticed Atlanta is another place where regular releases from the stations are common. In effect a lack of demo numbers available makes the demos irrelevant to someone trying to follow it if all they will give you is overalls. I realize that's not the way it works for setting advertising rates etc. But I guess you can only work with the numbers you are given. So if I have 10 years of household numbers for May for example I'd be inclined to want the May 15 households and ignore the demos entirely since my existing frame of reference is households. That's the situation I'm in with my Detroit stuff. I put together a ton of data from 13 years of press releases. It's at least 85% households. It'd be nice if TV were like radio and you could just go get the data from a site that aggregated it all. Has anyone ever seen a release online anywhere from any of the Chicago stations?
  25. Haven't new graphics and music been rumored for seemingly years now?
