Actually, WKBN used to do a 5:30 show back in the 90s until it moved to 5 in the early 2000s. WYTV actually had a hour-long 5pm news from 2004 to 2009 when they dropped the 5pm for "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader".
I wonder how WKBN will program it's E/I seeing as how they're constrained by CBS starting at Noon often. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if, Fall 2016, 27 programs either news or an infotainment show at 4pm, and FINALLY expands the morning news to 4:30am.
Don't forget, CBS Corp. still allows KOVR to program CBS programming from 7-10pm PT. I think that CBS can make an exception and allow WSBK to experiment with a 9-11pm slot for the CW.
Ansin said he was going to invest in more news and he meant it. I wonder if WFXT will do a 7pm to compete. WBZ obviously can't do it due to having WoF and J!
Well these stations are going to be in good hands (sort of). Although, I can already tell you, IMO, the branding coming to the WVM stations.

Any bets that Glenn Stevens gets the anchor chair back at WFMJ? Although, they will probably have Leslie Barrett solo anchor until they either find a new (fe)male anchor. But, congrats to Bob Black for 35 years of journalism to Youngstown.
WMMS was really creative and clever back in its heyday before Clear Channel bought the station and killed any soul that was at 100.7. Back to the cereal, this does get me wondering if WEWS will make a "Power of 5" cereal that's sold at either Marc's or Giant Eagle.
Also, IIRC, WFFF (the Fox station in the Burlington-Plattsburgh market) produced news for WVNY (ABC). It was called ABC 22 News but then they would say "Powered by Fox 44".
Well it's probably due to WKEF being relatively weaker in ratings than WRGT. What I mean is that WRGT does pretty well for a small-market Fox, especially at 10pm. WKEF, OTOH, has always been an also-ran for decades compared to WHIO or WDTN. Even though it would seem crazy, remember who gets the better news ratings potential between WKEF and WRGT.
Stan Boney will move across the hall from WYTV to WKBN to anchor First News at 10 and 11. His replacement will be Corban Baker, a weekend reporter from KMIR in Palm Springs, CA.

I wouldn't be surprised if WUAB extends "Cleveland 19 News" to 9am and puts the E/I on Saturdays only. Also, don't be surprised if WUAB (finally) ends its 10pm news in 2017 in favor of (hopefully) a 6:30pm newscast.
The good news is that WUAB is reverting to being an "independent". Techically all MNT stations are indy so this does work. Also, WUAB might have to drop its 9pm news because it was tried on WSBK in Boston (pre-MNT) and it failed miserably.
I'm betting on two years, "Ohio 19 News", and a shift in focus to the Akron area. Seriously, if WOIO pulled a WEAR and focused its efforts on Akron, then they would be out of the gutter and could gain a reputation for having more Akron/Canton news than 3, 5 or, 8.
I'm glad that they've based the new logo off of the non-news 19, but those colors look bad. I know they're trying to move away from the "Action News" era as much as possible, but at least come up with a more dignified logo.
As far as WUAB, that logo kind looks more like one for a streaming site than a TV station.
Cleveland 19 and CLE 43?!? I'm glad that WUAB is moving away from the "my43" branding but this branding is bringing me flashbacks of the "Hometeam" era.
It will be more like this:
4p: Nolan/Dufala
4:30p: Wittman/Tucker
5p: Robinson/Dufala
5:30p: Wittman/Tucker
6p: Nolan/Robinson
10p: Wittman/Tucker
11p: Robinson/Dufala
