Some NBC O&O's are replacing Access Daily with syndicated Dateline reruns (branded in promos as "Dateline in Daytime") starting January 3. I know WCAU and WTVJ are.

What's the difference between that and the other syndicated Dateline package???

Makes me wonder if Fox will develop another game show for fall ‘23 and go for a full block with 25 Words/YBYL/Pictionary/4th game

If CBS were to bring back Hollywood Squares, that'd be a good guess.

Or maybe they could resurrect Punchline.

KENS 5 Eyewitness News anchor Deborah Knapp is reducing her schedule and stepping away from the 10pm newscast. She'll continue to anchor the 5pm newscast. No word on who will succeed Deborah at 10pm or whether her co-anchor Aaron Wright will anchor solo at 10pm

I'd say Sharon Ko would take her spot. I notice she left the noon newscast but she also does 6pm as well.

We'll know if she becomes Wendy Bell's co-host on her daily radio show (yes, she's back on the radio...in Altoona and a wacky St. Louis translator trimulcast).

She just always finds herself a new gig somehow, doesn't she?

Welllll.... I think you got your wish. WTKR and WGNT are now using the Florida24 version of the theme for all their opens.

Blaine Stewart's Twitter post from the 12th...

Blaine Stewart on Twitter: "Tracking more big stories in our 8:00 hour. Also, I'm loving the new music in our show opens. @WTKR3 https://t.co/3DnWlLwO1D" / Twitter

Here's the full theme from Stephen Arnold Music's YouTube Page.

    Florida 24 Network - YouTube

    Alright, WTKR/WGNT!

That sounds much more like them.

New M&A. Looks like Byron Allen is grabbing another TV station in Hawaii.

Allen Media is acquiring Honolulu station KIKU from RNN National for $4M.

Remember last year, the station acquired ABC outlet KITV 4 from SJL Broadcasting for $30M.

He must be having a hard time finding someone to carry those scripted court shows.

On some real stuff, I'd rather see a station carry those than be a dumping ground for infomercials. And besides, everyone else has multiple stations in Hawaii so why not?

Now if RNN would sell everything else, or at least the stations that could be reasonable duopoly bait and provide a second outlet for news and syndicated shows.

  7. I forgot Weigel owned KYAZ now so maybe that's another option as well.

Starting September 27 when Young Sheldon debuts, Tamron Hall gets booted to late night at 2am. She is currently airing at 1pm. Yet one of their runs of Modern Family gets put at 2:30 in the afternoon. I…can’t…even…

    Changes:

1:00 Divorce Court (replaces Tamron Hall)

1:30 Judge Jerry (replaces Tamron Hall)

    2pm Mom (replaces Divorce Court)

2:30 Modern Family (replaces Judge Jerry)

    3:30 Young Sheldon (replaces Mom)

7pm Young Sheldon (replaces Big Bang Theory)

12:30am Big Bang Theory (replaces Modern Family)

2am Tamron Hall (replaces Friends and Judge Hatchett)

3am Judge Hatchett (replaces Karen Mills)

AgDay previously replaced Millionaire at 4am.

Bet Tamron might be WYFF bound next fall, with Gray not big on syndication, and how is she not on there already? Isn’t she on most Hearst stations? They could use an upgrade from Dr. Oz, and Ellen is ending as well.

Actually I just remembered that WYFF delays the fourth hour of Today to late night, they air Kelly and Ryan at 9, which makes their decision to carry Dr. Oz at 11am all the more baffling. They need to pick up Hoda and Jenna at 11am and then put Tamron at 2 (like sister WXII) and Kelly at 3 and they will be set.

WLKY did just boot Tamron though. And then you have KETV and KCCI which don't carry it in the first place.

Kelly Clarkson airing at 3 AM in a market as large as Pittsburgh is just wrong. Especially since she's in a transition period to take over Ellen's timeslots on many affiliates in 2022.

Did anyone tune into the YBYL premiere? Did it seem like a hit? How was the chemistry between Jay Leno and Kevin Eubanks, knowing they haven't been together on TV in 10 years or more?

Just watch as WPGH or WPCW grab her.

Here's something that I find ridiculous: With KUBE-TV Houston switching to full-time ShopHQ programming, none of the syndicated programs (first-run or off-net) that were being shown as more ShopHQ programming came in are currently shown on any of the Houston-area stations, that according to listings on Zap2It. Couldn't any of the other stations in Houston at least have made an effort to try and pick those programs up for their schedules? For now, for those people who live in Houston, you're gonna have to tune to KBTX (if you're lucky to get it, which I am right now) to see some of the programs pre-empted in Houston.

Another thing: On the KIAH CW39 listings on Zap2It, there is interestingly a "To Be Announced" listing at 3:00 p.m. CST for the weeks of September 13th and 20th. I wonder what that may mean...

All I have to say is.....Turn on the Tuuubeee.

That's where I see them ending up.

Thing is when NBC sold the station in 2006, the Telemundo  stations were operated independent of any NBC O&Os, they merged many operations later on.  The sale was more of NBC getting out of smaller markets, essentially reversing the merger with Outlet 10 years earlier.   NBC does not operate any fully English speaking duopolies.  Even here in the NY area, most of Telemundo' 47s operations are completely separate from WNBC.  It is not the same as CBS owning WCBS and WLNY.  At the time when Nexstar bought MG, it was mentioned a key driver in Providence was that both WNAC and WPRI carried Sunday football, which was a major money maker.  It outweighed WJAR's then significant dominance in news.  Sadly, Nexstar sold WJAR to one of the worst options out there.

    That was MG/Lin, not MG/Nexstar.

Hearst should have taken WJAR, honestly.

If Boston's in that 2%, I think the stations are worried that it may turn into a bust. Everyone jumped on the chance for Celebrity Name Game with another ex-late night host. But maybe they realize YBYL hasn't been profitable since Groucho's last show 60 years ago. Both Buddy Hackett and Bill Cosby failed within months. I wish good luck for Jay Leno nevertheless...three's a charm?

This is the time to mention that in Boston - a Top 10 market - there is no station in Boston proper airing YBYL. WMUR has picked it up to air at the puzzling hour of 10:30 AM but still.

Idk what WFXT's reasoning for not picking it up is but here's why 3 other stations that could have picked it up most likely didn't, other than aforementioned circumstances.

One station's senior partner doesn't exactly have respect among fans of game shows and then two other stations that could have gotten it probably still have a bad taste in their mouth from the whole Leno experiment in primetime.

I'm just partially messing around here but still...could be possible.

Seems like WATN could replace 25 Words or Less with it at 9am and put that on WLMT but what do I know.

This is the same market that doesn't have Barrymore or Rachael Ray and is just now getting Oz back on the very station that dropped it.

One would think WLMT would have been competent enough to run more than just trash talk repeats all day but it's whatever.

I can see WRLH getting Live! but right now they have The Doctors at 9am (until the 10th, will be replaced by Judge Judy repeats; Judge Judy continues to air at 5pm) and Steve Wilkos at 10am. Scratch out the other three because WWBT's sister station WUPV has Divorce Court and Judge Jerry. WRIC still has 8 News at 9 and The 700 Club and WTVR has their longtime local talk/entertainment show Virginia This Morning at 9am.

I'd rather see 65 get it but that's just me.

Memphis is not the only one. Live! with Kelly and Ryan will no longer be seen in Richmond starting Monday because WWBT is moving TODAY with Hoda and Jenna from 11am to 10am. Also, the station will debut a new 11am newscast called NBC12 News Before Noon. 12 About Town Today - their news and lifestyle show named after one of the station's longtime segments - that debuted in 2019 (I think?) that replaced the noon newscast - continues to air at noon.

You'd think it'd simply slide down to 65 or even 35.

  15. 3 hours ago, mrschimpf said:

If they go by date of closing (June 27, 2016)...it's possible that KYES was ahead of KTBY, when Fox is in repeats and its sports output was limited to Saturday MLB games. Remember the attempted WPLG/WTVJ merger where they tried to justify that WTVJ was sixth in the market due to Univision and Telemundo, likely picking out a time where the latter two's soccer schedule was strong and just before or after the 2008 Beijing Olympics where WTVJ was at a ratings nadir.

Stuff like this has allowed WGNT to be ahead of WVBT at times.....and WLMT to be ahead of WATN.

    My bad.

They had tried to syndicate it nationally a few years ago, IIRC. It currently is on Fox stations in Minnesota and WIsconsin.

    I remember that.

I still think that, along with WTXF's The Q could take off. I picture those two as Fox's Answer to Kelly and Ryan.

KMSS and KCWX or KMYS would do really well if they were to have those two shows on their lineup.

I could see a few Fox O&Os letting the competition have them though due to no room for reasonable scheduling.

KZJO (JoeTV) will air The Jason Show at noon weekdays. He comes from KMSP...is this only Fox/MNTV O&Os airing this, or will it be offered to other stations?

WLAX has aired it before. Idk if they still do. And I think it also airs in Duluth/Superior.
