  1. After a roughly 2 year stint, WXMI Meteorologist Terri DeBoer is once again leaving West Michigan airwaves. She sites personal reasons (passing of mother and the intense couple months covering for Cheif Met Kevin Craig)...
  2. UPDATE: Chief Met Kevin Craig is coming back soon according to Morning Anchor Janice Allen... AJ Walker was just a fill-in from WSYM Fox 47 in Lansing. WXMI has been running on 2 mets since Reece Cole's exit in December. Colton is also starting on-air soon.
  3. Yes -- if there are duopolies, they can't have the Olympic rings showing on non-NBC channels...
  4. Former WILX Met. Colton Cichoracki has joined WXMI Fox 17 in Grand Rapids. Interestingly enough, they seem to also have another new meteorologist, AJ Walker. Chief Met. Kevin Craig has been off-air due to "personal reasons" for a couple months now. I don't know if they're wanting to go back up to 5 mets again or if Craig is leaving.
  5. This was posted in the Graphics section many days ago....
  6. This is actually not half bad for Sinclair for a change.
  7. not to be nitpicky, but the talent open with Dale Yurong wearing a suit and tennis shoes?? very tacky. I understand the need and most wear tennis shoes that usually aren't seen on camera, but in promos and opens, come on put on dress shoes to look half way decent and professional
  8. WICS and WRSP/WCCU also adopted the new graphics
  9. I was thinking the same thing.. if you notice, the blinking square element is similar to the new Scripps graphics blinking square that you see at the end of their L3 and U3 elements.
  10. Wow... yeah this tops the disastrous Fox SA rebrand
  11. Rincon (ex-Sinclair) station KTVO has new graphics. They inherited the graphics from WHBQ (Memphis Fox 13) and also changed the music to Innovation from Warner Chappell. For now, they still use the Sinclair layout website and various station ID's... It's assumed that'll change over time.
  12. Another update: They have finally updated the weather graphics to Roboto about a week ago. They now just have odds and ends with Gotham still (Storm Track LIVE logo, Winter Weather Alert, and News Logo). I will say using Roboto is okay, but to me, the graphics look kind of blah now....
  13. 3 weeks ago, this was posted on their YouTube shorts. They were celebrating 1,000 Weather Watchers -- I'm curious to know what the number is now
  14. For some reason, KNXV in Phoenix likes to use their weekend anchors to present the weather. For at least the past year, every weekend they have the morning anchor present the weather. Lately it's been Jordan Bontke. Prior to him was Amelia Fabiano. And at one point, Nick Ciletti was doing it. Is there a reason as to why they do this, as they have 4 mets? Usually its Jorge & Amber during the week and Ashelee & Justin on the weekends.
  15. I didn't want to bump it in the graphics section... Do we have an approx. update as to which station is getting the new graphics next? It's been a hot minute since the last one
  16. Chief Meteorologist Matt Devitt from WINK has been let go from the station. His bio has been scrubbed from their website as well.
  17. Good for her -- she needed to get away from WTVF...
  18. This has been covered briefly in the VO part of the forums, but I'll elaborate here as well. Many of you I'm sure have noticed that Nexstar is implementing many "cost saving" efforts including: Switching VO work to SpotVoice: Many stations since Jan 1 have switched, with many more to come Minor graphics changes: Even though most stations are using various forms of Google Fonts for their graphics, a few outliers still exist. WOOD, for example, is in process of switching from Gotham (a licensed font) to Roboto (a Google font). You know.. gotta save those dollars for TEGNA
  19. You can add WOOD to the list -- it sounds AI-ish even... NOW vs. Dec. 31
  20. are the weather graphics a completely different program?
  21. why didn't they adopt the full GrayOne package?? Kinda silly to do the weather and new logo, but not the complete package??
  22. TEGNA has decided to follow in Allen's footsteps and hub some meteorologists for extra severe weather coverage and "conversation"
  23. Jesus how many frickin times are they going to change things? There's a slew of Gray stations that have yet to get this package, and here's tiny KWQC changing every month or so...
  24. WXMI meteorologist Reece Cole is stepping away from meteorology to pursue Financial Planning....
  25. He was at KPHO/KTVK in Phoenix for a hot second then just disappeared... Glad he's back home at KRON
