The old Meredith package is being phased out, just like the previous Gray packages are. It seems whenever a station is ready, they are going with GrayOne. I'm guessing smaller stations are lower priority, but some REALLY could use a new package.
There's no need for the old Meredith package.. GrayOne has elements of it in there...

Sorry if this has already been posted but recently KIVI has dropped all live newscast and news anchors for “scrippcasts.” I’m not sure how many job cuts were made in Boise.
According to their website, no anchors are listed. Just "Senior Reporters" and "Neighborhood Reporters"

KOCO was one, WIAT was another.

Wendell Edwards out at WFSB... What gets me is he just loves to move all over the country.. I can easily count 6 stations he's been at over the past 20 years...

I sure hope they clean up the package... The weather graphics are a clunky mix of old and new

WOOD-TV has picked up a new ND: Brad Kessie from WLOX

I also see they switched from the "CBS" Nexstar graphics to the KOIN graphics

What I also find odd about this whole revamp -- they just got new graphics barely 2 years ago... Why did they change so quickly I wonder??

I see they are changing the weather branding to "Your Weatrher Authority"

Nexstar's WPHL has adpoted the new PIX graphics... The weather graphics for some reason are using Arial/Helvetica instad of Gotham & Lato...

KPNX picks up Ginger Jeffries for evening weather: https://www.azcentral.com/story/entertainment/media/2023/10/12/ginger-jeffries-weather-12-news-phoenix/71154019007/
I'm wondering if this is temporary or permanent?? I know Lindsay Riley is on maternity leave again...

Heard Jeff was difficult to deal with. He and Shaina didn’t seem to mesh well on the air and it showed. Unsure of the details but I think the station made the right move.
Agreed

I'm surprised Jeff lasted a year. The way he first came across was "Hey I'm Jeff.. I'm helping to start and then I'm outta here..."

Sorry I'm not a fan of those graphics at all.. They look cheesy and dated

You also have to consider the DMA, end of rating books, big events (i.e. Olympics)... There really are a lot of variables and there really is no formula... Take Gray for example.. They seem to be doing 1-3 stations/week with the GrayOne rollout... CBS didn't take too terribly long.... NBC didn't really take that long either..

Anchor/MMJ/Etc. Contracts
in General TV
Posted
Not sure if this is the place for this question or not, but please move it if it isn't...
Anyways, my question is: What's up with anchors/mmjs/etc constantly moving after 1-2 years?? Doesn't this make them less credible?? I'm just curious why stations are hiring people, only to have them leave after a year... I've been doing some searches and haven't come across a somewhat clear answer...
