As silly as this sounds, Swann is young and good looking, traits that very few conservative journalists/commentators have. There's definitely value in that.
and that is what confuses me...
TV twinks are all the rage right now and you would think he was gonna be able to write his own ticket. But then he makes this series of bonehead moves...
Simply put...
None of what he did made any sense.
Unless he had a hissy-fit.
That happens.

... Here's hoping he doesn't end up at a certain company that owns too many stations...
I think his arrogance (will or already) has burnt that possibility. Doesn't seem like he listens to his agent, or he just likes to ride bareback, and takes his chances.
So if he had faith in his personal brand then he would probably re-activate that questionable website that got him fired.
How many ND's did he survive?

Lester Holt did a piece on North Korea. Considering the amount of time he was there they should've spend 3 days on the story instead of ultra editing it to a 4 minute segment.
I'm sure they are sitting on plenty of other N.Korean fluff pieces. Those will be aired in the weeks to come.

One of the biggest problems Megyn Kelly faces is that we really don’t know who ‘the real’ Megyn Kelly is. She was a different person when she was on FNC and said/did a lot of stupid things imo (‘Santa can only be White’, etc..).
Now she is on NBC, she has attempted to clean up her image, but that’s tough to do when, for example, you’re an advocate for Women one day and attack an 80 yr. old Woman the next for no reason. This is only one incident/misstep she has made since arriving at NBC.
I think she has never fully taken the time for some self-reflection in order to better herself. Granted that may sound like nonsense, but she would have been better off not taking the job at NBC and spending some time with her family out of the spotlight.
I think she is gonna work the bad girl thing for a bit. The whole Jane Fonda thing generated plenty of hits, views and clicks across all the NBC platforms...and many others platforms. Some of these bonehead moves by NBC are actually kinda brilliant.
Women love to spar, and TODAY and GMA are becoming "women only" spaces just like most of social media is.
NBC and Kelly can afford to try new things, let them fight if it generates buzz and clicks. Heck let them start getting drunk at 8am if they want.
It's not like TV news media really has to worry about credibility anyway.

Holy bleep. I can't believe I'm saying this but... PBS is back in Puerto Rico!
So yes, PBS is back in Puerto Rico. Wonderful news for a country still reeling from Hurricane Maria.
DISCLAIMER: I'm half Puerto Rican so I had to share this and this is wonderful news for public broadcasting.
This is also great news for Koreans and Mexicans visiting Puerto Rico, as they will also be able to enjoy the many offerings of these great PBS stations.
Disclaimer: I'm American, Korean and Mexican.
I enjoy Kimchi tacos...and long walks on the beach with my horse "Mr.Chu"

Joking about content is one thing, but about a well-being of someone else is a whole other game. Wishing good thoughts.

We got tired of you guys complaining about not being able to see shit, so decided to make it as contrasting as possible, in hopes you'll either complain less or we either blind you and you can't see. Either way, we expect the complaints.

They (those people) were directly quoting the President.
Nobody will be fined.
Unless...
The whole thing was just a lie and it's proven he never said shithole... Then would NBC be on the hook for the profanity???
No.
Nobody will be cited, no NAL's...no fines....no s**t.

New M&A.
It looks like Estrella wants to buy Miami's Spanish indie WGEN for $11M.
I love Estrella TV more than Telemundo in the 90's.
Estrella has only one set for all it's shows...
The only have one little person...but he does all the shows.
And the only have 3 skanky go-go girls which get rotated all afternoon through all the various creepy shows.
...and a donkey...and a few chickens.
Full Disclosure: I am 1/3 Mexican and I live near the border.
I also once bought a "slimmer" thing off one of the ads they run....but it didn't work.

Could it be as simple as someone at KCBS/KCAL heard she was there visiting from their sister station, heard about the promotion and wanted to talk?
Yep...
Or even more sinister...
Sometimes talent will show up to other stations to visit friends...and "be
seen" exclusively for gossip and negotiation reasons.
Make 'em think you are being shopped....when you are not.
...and sometimes that backfires.

Does anyone have an update? I have never seen a dispute with DIRECTV last this long.
If you think that sucks...
Then don't ever get married.

An animated Paul Bunyan has taken his axe to WLBZ2 and rechristened the station as NEWS CENTER Maine - but the old WLBZ2 logo still appears on the station bug and promos.

I like the choppy guy. He reminds me of what a grown up Isaac from South Park would look like as a serial killer.
They should put the heads of TV management for those stations on the stump.

So did NBC screw Hoda when it came to her new Paycheck?
Is NBC really gonna do this to her.

They don't take town cars.. as a matter of fact many of them walk. Chris Wragge posts himself in his car each morning on his Insta story. Lonnie Quinn rides his bike. Plus there are many who live in Jersey or in the suburbs. Are the stations really going to pay for a towncar when they're cutting budgets left and right?
Wow...
Sounds pretty depressing. Seems the ride situation was always the first thing discussed in the contracts. Nobody wanted to drive for obvious reasons.
I guess I stand corrected....sad for them....but corrected neverless.
EDIT: So I check a bit further...made a call or two.
The station still pays for many talent rides to and from work....they just all use UBER and get reimbursed.
Dopey me!

She does. All the the anchors do. Bill takes yellow cabs. High profile network talent are given cars to and from home, not local anchors.
Things must have really changed in the last few years. We NEVER took yellow cabs to anything. It was always town cars...even for stupid airport runs to JFK. If Lara Spencer or Stacy Sager...or even N.J forgot their favorite hair brush at home...it was a town car that was sent. Never a yellow cab. You get better service and discounts with town cars because every station has their "favorite" companies.
You seriously gonna tell me some local anchors and reporters don't take town cars to work anymore?
Where do they have all the available parking spaces hidden at WABC?
ok...ok....to be accurate
WCBS and WPIX took cabs.
WOR and everyone else took Gypsy.
(ya sense a little sarcasm?)

They still plug her in promos so she should be back sometime, but it is frustrating to the viewership because she is missed so much. With that said, I'm sure Sade would love to be back, but I suppose her doctors feel she is not ready.
With that said, and I get there are vacations, but it seems that Liz gets the most time off than any other anchor, unless she has it written into her contract. Not only vacation weeks which happen to have holidays in them, but she gets virtually all other holidays off too!
Who disagrees?
She is paying her agent 10% (standard rate) of her paycheck each week to have all those days off negotiated in her contract. Does ABC provide a daily round trip in a Towne Car to and from work...like many others get? Clothing allowance or free clothing ??? 1 or 3 hour lunch and dinner break???
How about that all expenses paid vacation to any Disney resort , cruise ship or Island?
Her agent did all the heavy lifting...she just has to show up and read the news...and he gets 10%.
Sweet gig eh?

By the way, Robin Roberts doesn't do a d*m thing for me. She actually doesn't do anything for Men in general.
You may be bit late to that party...
Just saying.

We have more sad news: Remember WNKY's popular Radar the Weather Dog? Sadly, the four-legged television personality passed away (or as we pet owners say, crossed the rainbow bridge) a couple days ago.

He was a fine canine. He had many four legged friends. He will be missed...
Ruff day eh?

Yeah, it has hit everyone in Atlanta pretty hard tonight. Amanda Davis was loved by so many in the Atlanta DMA.
One of these days maybe the industry will actually give a shit about the rampant alcohol abuse in TV news. 30 years of highs from the adrenaline spikes and the lows of daily news work.
I can tell you about folks who work the swing 3p-12a that by 12:30a they are completly shitfaced at home...awake until 5am...and running carpool with 3 kids at 8am. She reeks of booze in the AM. By the time she rolls in around 2:30pm most the boozy smell has been covered by strawberry body spray.
It's not a secret.
And she does good work and we all love her. But we also look the other way because she does good work...and nobody want's to be the one to mention the subject to her.
News people are supposed to be bullet proof and tough as nails.
Stations don't care. Sure they will pay for one trip to rehab but they never will deal with the core of the problem because stations are just getting cheaper and cheaper.
And lets be honest....
Many news people have no clue, and zero practical field training so they know what is really "out there" in the field and in the newsroom.
I would much rather work with somebody stoned then work with a chronic hungover crew member or teammate.
Stop drug testing for pot, test for opiates and screen for access alcohol abuse.
Amanda was hit by a transient event that mimicked a drunken stupor. I bet she even chalked it up to drinking like everyone else did. She and others ignored the warning signs...and her body gave up.
And if she was self detoxing off booze without direct Dr.'s supervision then she didn't stand a fighting chance.
Very sad, but the biz chews them up...and spits them out. Most never make it to 30 years...they die...or just burn out.
RIP Amanda

Don't be shocked...
The broadcasting labor unions do the exact same thing 10X over by requesting the members to donate to various democratic pacs.
It happens during every election cycle and has occurred in one form or another for decades.
