1. I won’t expect a reply though... when I point out how much of a joke FOX is you go silent running...

I will be happy to debate you or anyone else at any time....anywhere.

All I ask is that you come armed with verifiable FACTS and not a bunch of talking points or emotional garbage. I would expect you to also have a very deep knowledge of the subject including all relevent players and legal scenarios currently being discussed by the pointy bearded university types.

    Anytime...anywhere.

I look forward to your invitation.

  2. They’ve joined FOX then as a non legit news org. which should be an honor as highly rated as FOX is...

I won’t expect a reply though... when I point out how much of a joke FOX is you go silent running...

When have I ever run away silent from debate here????

    NEVER!

FOX has ratings that reflect it's ability to attract an audience.

    it's all about money.

Forget the politics because it's OK if you hate Trump.

But FOX is #1 with waaaay more people.

FOX gained audience last quarter while CNN's viewers continue to RUN away.

    Hating Trump has destroyed CNN.

Otherwise democratic viewers would be watching CNN by the millions.

    TV is a business first.

CNN is dying right before our eyes.

    Go hug your children.

  3. Yes, some stations have gone down ratings wise. But, that is on the station, not the company. The news director and executives at each station are the people making the day-to-day decisions.

A lot of these concepts are different for sure. But, TEGNA is pushing it so TV news will survive. A lot of these concepts and new ideas have captured the audiences they were intended to (young people). TEGNA's new graphics and music packages have outperformed the previous, and KUSA's "Next with Kyle Clark" is now the top rated newscast in all of Denver in any time period. So, yes, these are different ways of doing the news, but they're working.

Any station that relays on social media for it's content is on a path to failure.

Show me ONE success story of a newscast based on SM.

Now take a look at a station that doesn't use SM as a crutch or a starting point for its coverage...a station that gets very solid ratings and has higher billing than any other local station including all the network affils locally.

    It's KUSI.

  4. This has become too painful to witness.

The once mighty CNN degrades it's product to the lowest of the low.

And people wonder why CNN is called "fake news"?

    Here is why...

    https://theintercept.com/2018/08/28/cnn-credibly-accused-of-lying-to-its-audience-about-a-key-claim-in-its-blockbuster-cohen-story-refuses-to-comment/

Now I "get" that CNN wants to be the network to "Bring down Trump", but it will never happen because CNN has destroyed it's own brand...that BRAND was credibility.

CNN is done as a legit news org. Nobody can save CNN now. Just like the catholic church it needs to be torn down for good...and then MAYBE rebuilt from scratch.

The only saving grace is that hardly anybody (less than 250,000 viewers per week) watch CNN. More people last week watched Rick and Morty (pretty funny show) on Cartoon Swim.

Like watching a good friend commit suicide in front of you...

    Good Bye CNN.

    """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

There goes that KBEX-TV "EatNews One"....

    whoooooosh!

  5. Definitely and it didn’t seem like she did really anything to help her case. There was a lot of victim blaming from the young girl which was rather bizarre.

She has already admitted to pushing the girl,,, She is on video...and she is a juvenile .

    Slap on the wrist.

FWIW the networks do not provide lawyers...you have to arrange for your own lawyer if you want one next to you while Michael Strahan interviews you. The very last thing a booking producer wants to hear from you is "I need to talk to a lawyer first"...(full stop)!

It is unethical for a lawyer to 'cold call" or "ambulance chase" after a potential client.

YOU have to make contact with the lawyer first....they don't just show up unannounced or else they get in big doo-doo with the state bar and can be fined, dis-barred or suspended.

    Happy National Bacon Day

  6. Someone has actually spoken up - wow! I don't think you'd see Chris Ripley say anything like that.

The President has been very clear recently...and most educated folks agree that...

FAKE NEWS is the Enemy of the People.

Start using real "sources" and start confirming stuff in triple.

You might get some viewers back of you do your job in an unbiased way as you are supposed to.

    NO Fake News!

  7. Where is KGTV military reporter Hanna Mullens?

Nothing from the reporter with the 13" waist since mid March.

And what about that Bree Stephens....she is also MIA.

    Oh well...

Here is a cute pic of Hanna playing Army...call if you spot her.

  8. I wouldn't be surprised to see him make a return to the SF market (if someone is willing to pay up) when his Phoenix contract expires.

he might not want to return once he sees how far his dollar goes...and the better schools...nicer people...less traffic(much less) cheaper gas...less poo and needles...cheaper and better housing...

    ...and SANE normal people.

  9. Famous in my book!

Nexstar and KRON just lost a good reporter and a household brand. I hope Penny-Pinchin' Perry is happy.

I can't even see PBB working in PHX because people are too well behaved in AZ.

I'm really kinda shocked that nobody local in the B.A. picked him up. He is also a pretty solid beat reporter.

  10. *Shrugs shoulders*

As long as WGCL starts ''experimenting'' with Bobeth Yates being the new meteorologist

    I'm fine with it.

Bobeth Yates during her tenured at ABC7 as a meteorologist.

Well if you like the "experiment" then be sure to let the station ND know. They love the feedback from loyal viewers.

It actually might make a difference.

  11.
AND... the more newscasts you have, the more money you're going to make from political ad leading up to Election Day, and that's a proven fact
Please excuse me @oknewsguy, because this is a good jumping off point for something where there are some broadcasting mis-conceptions The KBEX-TV GSM and his Sales Weasels respond... If that was a proven fact... Every station would just go news 24/7 during elex cycles. Just because you have lots of inventory it don't meant it gets sold to the politicos. First... I have to sell ads to legit FEDERAL candidates at the lowest rate class on the "rate card" (not really a card)... If I have a hot local race I can pick and choose who I sell to, but most of us just sell to all candidates in that race. We all want to be fair, beside the love of taking all your money. There are more and more rules that have to be followed that God forbid we screw up one little rule...and we get sued, or piss-off the FCC or somebody. Note: Never a good idea for political parties to sue tv stations over ad issues. Second... Not all markets are considered "battle grounds" most the time. Sure there are 'Hot" races and some good "battle ground states" out there, but there are also many that suck and do not produce large political ad buys. Once every 4 years most stations will score some large buys...but that better carry you at least 2 to 4 more years if that's all you depend on for station income. I have other advertisers that are super loyal, and they don't want to be bumped or denied the regular slot they been getting on the 5 and 11 newscast for the last 50 years. I'm not pissing off my loyal regulars for the sake of politics. That car dealer has been with us longer than Joe Blow(d) running for "Animal Control and Behavior Specialist" aka Dog catcher. It's also a bad practice to grow and deflate your news department staffing based on you projected political advertising. Scripps does that and it's very demoralizing to the news staffers one the elex cycle runs. Not a good way to run any business. So political ads are very nice, but they are flighty, the reps are mostly hacks who demand way too much time from the sales teams. And just ask any GSM in CA, or NY and they will tell you how great the last "run" was...but the GM will tell you that the profits from the run was eaten up by new skyhigh state and local taxes...Not the Federal...go figure. Remember folks... There is a place in the front of the TV station called the "Sales Department" it's closest to the lobby and has really good parking...and the air conditioning always works. Those guys really call the shots in the world of TV. "Money First...Ratings Second." (tv sales credo)

  12. Telemundo Contract

    Date: 07-22-2018 9:43 AM - Word Count: 192

    Telemundo Contract

SAG-AFTRA Approves Contracts For Telemundo; Non-Primetime Programming

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The Screen Actors Guild's national board has

unanimously approved its first-ever tentative agreement with Telemundo

Television Studios covering Spanish-language television performers, union

    officials announced.

The three-year agreement reached Saturday follows 15 months of

    negotiations.

Under the contract, Telemundo talent will contribute to and

participate in the SAG-AFTRA Health Plan and SAG-Producers Pension Plan for the

first time. They will also receive residuals for foreign and domestic

programming and streaming platforms, based on a percentage of Telemundo's gross

    receipts.

Also for the first time, Telemundo performers will be guaranteed

    minimum salaries and annual increases.

Telemundo is the largest employer of Spanish-language talent in the

United States. It's new contract goes into effect immediately.

In addition to the Spanish media pact, the SAG-AFTRA board also

overwhelmingly approved a new network contract covering a wide range of non-

primetime programs that air on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox networks. This includes

soap operas, game shows, talk shows and quiz shows, as well as sports and

    variety shows.

That tentative agreement must go to the union's full membership for

    final ratification.

  13. Apparently, look at James Gunn. Disney just iced him from any involvement in the next Guardians of the Galaxy sequel for jokes about paedophilia and rape he made in the past.

Although in that case, that was an alt-right trolling revenge attack led by Mike Cernovich, the same guy who got Sam Seder briefly fired as an MSNBC commentator for some of his past tweets before the backlash resulted in NBCUniversal researching Cernovich (which Disney didn't in the Gunn case) and realized he wasn't very credible, and in both cases was so-called "revenge" against Trump critics.

    Consider it revenge for Rosanne.

  14. Or as the producers of Springer will tell you in the green room...

"You might get hit with jello...or you might get hit with a fist...Now sign the release, and enjoy the show..."

Both knew what could happen, nobody was forced to be there.

  16. Before Jeanine left the stage she called the host of The View cocksucks in front of the studio audiences... She was way out of line for doing that in front of the guest

    Good for Judge Jeanine!

Whoopie got her button pushed...she got triggered.

I'm sure the poor, shocked audience member will recover in time for the election.

  17. I say Nexstar gets broken up simply because Nexstar is WAY too big for one company to fully acquire it

I say Nexstar(or Sinclair) falls apart simply because it got so big that nobody could buy it...and I hope the goverment allows it to fail.

    No bail outs.

Let it crash and burn so real entrepreneurs can try something new that can serve local markets better.

The sooner it happens the better.

Speculation can be very costly as Sinclair my soon attest to, TV stations groups should never be considered too big to fail.

I see this whole Sinclair mess as being the "warning shot" that the FCC has fired across the bow of all the large station groups.

    I support comprehensive television reform.

  18. Idiots!

So KGTV wants the public help in finding a peeping tom in San Diego..

    https://www.10news.com/news/caught-on-camera-peeping-tom-revisits-apartment

Why did KGTV blur the face of the suspect?

Is KGTV worried about being sued by a peeping tom?

What if the was the window of a child? Would KGTV still blur the face?

What if the guy was wearing a trump hat?

Nice job KGTV....keep up the good solid investigative work.
