  1. FOX is serious about keeping cost down for programming on the local level. Look, They got those 2, and the crew already on the clock...and you get hundreds of emails from people pitching ideas, cooking, fashion and mommy stuff segments. This shit is cheap to produce AND some crack smoking sales weasels have learned that you can SELL entire segments to plastic surgeons and yoga yogi's. Stations are finding that 9-11a time slot is becoming more profitable....and with reduced labor cost...it's cheaper to produce in-house again. Just like the early days of TV... In house production.
  2. No, I'm binge watching some shows I had on the Betamax.
  3. OMG! Bling sneakers and an audience that came from the "standby" line at Regis and Kathy Lee .
  4. Oh how dishsturbing. (unknown author)
  5. Because everyone thinks ABC will never sell...and it's fun to tweek them every now and then for S#%ts and giggles.
  6. They actually should outsource KGTV positions to KERO. It goes without saying that this would be so wrong in so many ways. Why should KGTV have to adopt KERO? Let LA keep Bakersfield as her lil bumpkin to the north
  7. Directly from the WXhub / Call Center enter in Punjab.
  8. Someone can get hurt just as bad no matter if you turn the tv off first...before or after you throw it out the window. I hope you don't live in a Hi-rise.
  9. I thought Larry Perrit had actually brought the news ratings up a bit. Was it just not a good fit?
  10. If they renovated the bathrooms or kitchen they would greatly increase the value of the station.
  11. KYW and all the others have made it super easy and convenient to stalk reporters via social media. "If you are dressed like that then you are asking for it" If TV stations keep pushing employees to play this crazy social media game then someone IS gonna get hurt or killed.
  12. That's a nice thing to do. A full page ad is not cheap.
  13. Good riddance to Pappas! They earn a slot in the top 5 worst TV groups to work for of all time.
  14. The same reason is why you don't see Turko comparing and testing kids cough syrups. "It ain't right"
  15. Pretty sure they won't unless they are total softballs. I can promise you the affils will hate this set-up because it's the tail wagging the dog. Most calls will be landlord/ tenant disputes , credit card billing problems and child custody/ family law disputes. Some doe eyed intern takes the calls and then try to convince the locals that it's newsworthy. The locals will play the "it's not newsworthy" game back and forth. The next big issue will be the old "stepping on the toes"... When Old Miss Crabby calls the Texas call center to complain about her city not sweeping the streets on a regular basis. That's when the fun begins. When the "call screeners" in Texas start digging around and making calls to the local city hall in the affils town...the locals (I-team) go ballistic because "Some idiot intern in Texas is screwing up the relations we have with city hall"....Back Off!. I would be really interested to see how they plan to keep the locals "engaged" and not get pissed off at the call center and the "stories" they find. It's really just based on "crap in...crap out" types of calls...the kind of shit that Scripps stations run with every night. No need to waste money digging up news, when we can just wait for the drunks to call us. I give this whole ill convinced plan about 1 year before we see "job cuts" in TV spy and FTV live due to the shrinking TV news ad dollars post 2016 elex. But as any good assignment editor will tell you,,, "When Consumer Bob comes bitching about the story generated FROM Texas...I will tell Bob to go find me something better." Chances are that will shut him up.
  16. Poor thing never had a chance working with Dave Courvoisier all those years at KVBC 3. Go grab some meetings Rikki...no shortage of them in the Valley.
  17. Ouchy!
  18. Give her a hug....and a kick in the ass...and tell her to follow the 12 steps.
  19. Everyone knows Elvis is alive and has been running CBS all these years. I have EXCLUUUUUUSIVE Pictures to prove it. (sweeps yaa-know)
  20. It's called... "Getting Old"
  21. Yes I recently took a tour of the new facility and took these exclusive pictures...
  22. Just north of Kernville Ca., there is a fish hatchery that is run by the US Fish and Wildlife Service and it's open to the public. There are rows and rows of concrete tanks with various sizes of rainbow and brown trout in the various stages of growth. The larger fish are in the uncovered tanks. The baby fish are in covered tanks to protect them from birds and other predators. Near the uncovered tanks are bubble gum style vending machines that for a quarter dispense fish food so kids can feed the fishys. All day long kids toss handfuls of food into the water and the fish rush to the surface and gobble up the food. The water "boils" from all the splashing fish. It's a cool sight. But some kids don't have any money... So they scoop up a handful of tiny rocks off the ground and toss those into the water and the fish rush to the surface and gobble up the rocks ... just like they do with the fish food..... Then they spit all the rocks out at the same time and the water "boils" again. The kids crack up because it's even funnier...the fish know the drill and spit the rocks out...and the poor / low income kids save a quarter. There is a moral to this story ... "You Can't Fool The Fish".
  23. Does the dog like to ride in cars? What kind of treats does he like? Do you want to share your popcorn? (i will be swimming off of Rockaway beach this afternoon if you want to toss the pup my way)
  24. Because they just attach a Gopro to a Mosquito to save money.
  25. They need to send the WBOC News Chomper down to sink some teeth into the coverage... That's The Facts...Jax!
