  1. Here's the Seven Network's Newsworld just before Clive Robertson came in (we need more of him on YT, I think of him as the Aussie equivilent of Tom Snyder)
  2. It's only the last few seconds, but we finally have an idea of what the lost Reaching Out To You image campaign sounded like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=TpXJqVPzNWA;m=16;s=29
  3. The only station I could find carrying it was a local Minnenapolis cable access station called "Metro Cable Network". So it was apparently a local show.
  4. Does anyone know what this "Tellstar News" was? It looks like the later years of CBS Nightwatch but on a lower budget:
  5. How's this for rare, WKOW's Eyewitness News from 1986: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=dNOyvHVQwtI;m=26;s=2 And the original channel 45 in Schenectady, WUSV-TV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=uxS0khyBcLg;m=6;s=36 And I really love this ABC News promo, looks very advanced for 1988: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=P9RPLgK90LA;m=15;s=53
  6. At long last we've found WFMJ's Counterpoint open: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=1P3QiqlwqG4;m=34;s=35
  7. I don't know how we missed this, an open from WCMH during the early days of the NBC ownership, they were still using Signature: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h=1;id=IN7fKCZ7LMc;m=2;s=17
  8. It's in B&W (it came from the Vandy archives), but nonetheless, here is a great edition of NBC Nightly News from February 22, 1979, which features a young Chris Wallace (with a moustache!) on the HOR begining televised sessions, and a final story on the election of future MST3K producer Jim Mallon to the Uniersity of Wisconsin student government!
  9. Who cares? I've seen tons of old late news opens that use daytime shots.
  10. Believe it or not, I know that music piece was used on one of the TV shows in The Sims 2! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=CtkBEq2wO7k;m=16;s=29
  11. It was replace with this simpiler open when they got a new sportscaster:
  12. KXJB's 10pm news from August 6, 1991 (my dad's 18th birthday!). At around 11 minutes is a story on the death of Harry Reasoner:
  13. An update from WJSU TV 40 from 1989/90, with the rare syndicated Sharing Together That's The Way promo!
  14. A KJRH tornado special from 1991:
  15. I posted this in Classic Video but I thought I'd have better luck here: Anyone know this theme? I heard it in part of a Donahue promo from 1993, as well as the intro to Jornal Bandeirantes from 1992:
  16. Anyone up for some college news? This is the inaguaral broadcast of the University of Georgia's University News from April of 1988, using some kind of production music that I've heard several times before, anyone know what it is?
  17. Bits of WOI-TV's 10pm news and Sports Extra from January 31, 1993:
  18. Here's a reat treat, WNHT from its indie days, including a promo using a jingle package from WTZA, and a news update (before they launced a full news operation during their CBS affiliation):
  19. I made it to 250 posts! And at least half of them was on this thread! The last few minutes of the other Pro News in Texas, KVIA-TV from April of 1982, along with the first minutes of their PM Magazine franchise, using a short version of the 1979 intro: A YT user looks back at the tornados that hit KOCO-TV 20 years ago this June, including clips of interviews with staff: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZ1EIg2opHo A clean intro to KNXT's news from 1975, one of the first, if not the first, CGI news intros: A documentary on BFBS from the early 80s:
  20. KTTC in 1986 with NewScore: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=umVwo0MM4Fc;m=15;s=10

  22. Some rare things from WSM-TV & WTVF, as well as WBBM & WMAQ are in this compliation, including a WTVF open from 1982/83 with the rare non-NBC version of Mike Randall's NewsCenter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=UypvRGMWlME;m=23;s=51
  23. And let us not forget that when the KTVI-New World switch was announced in 95, ABC had wanted to make KPLR (then still owned by the Koplar family) their new affiliate. If there had been a sixth commercial station to acquire KPLR's surplus shows (or if KNLC was apt to going mostly secular) we would likely now have ABC 11 and CW 30. That's probably the scenario ABC (and a lot of us here) wished should have happend.
  24. And two more... A full commercial break from KTVV during a 1981 SNL rerun (after the ill-fated Jean Doumanian run) Back they they were using a log which looked more suited for an indie station: KTBC runs into techincal difficulites during a CBS Sports boxing match: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=hanymzztUOw;t=58
  25. Lots of old Austin stuff, and theres more where that came from! Worrell ad for KVUE, I think this is different from the ones on compilation sets: A promo for KTVV's local Joyce & Mel show:
