With the recent report that Lou Dobbs allegidly gives advice directly to Trump through speakerphone, I thought I'd like to remind you of all what he was long before he became Trump's #2 fan:

Here's a real biggie, WOR-TV's sign-on routine and news from July 29, 1984, 16 months after the move to Seacaucus:

Mike was in the open. John B. Wells does the Lincoln-Mercury commercial before. As long as Tegna owns this website now, it seems right that I should post classic clips from one of it's stations: A nightime version of their 1979 open, this would have have to been no earlier than 1982, as this was after they moved to their current studios: From September 1983, the first generation of "Clearly The One/The One For You": An updated open from April 1985, this was after they bought a chopper:

It's in DX quality, but still better than nothing, a news open from KTIV from 1999 with Mark Haffner's On Your Side:

Newspapers.com says that Action News became Channel 12 News on April 28th. That was also when they debuted a new set which I believe was used until they bacame "Arizona's News Station" in 93. Here's KRTV in 1997 with Stephen Arnold's Newsleader: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=NSam7b4-9sc;t=43

Lots of rare New York TV potpourri from the same channel that had the 1979 WNBC sign off! A complete episode of WNEW-TV's Midday Live with Bill Boggs from February 27, 1978: WABC's Good Morning New York (which would later evolve into The Morning Show and then Live with Regis and Kathie Lee) from April 29, 1982: WOR-TV's womens talk show Straight Talk from April 11, 1980: WCBS-TV's public affairs program On Your Side with John Stossel (long before he bacame a libertarian and one of Trump's defenders on TV) from February 1979: You know this channels a keeper when you find something like this, half of an episode of NBC's Monitor newsmagazine from March 1983: The original recorder may have been a doctor, as several of his uploads have to do with the subject of infertility and frozen sperm and eggs.

That guy should probably let another user upload things from his tape collection. He clearly has a messed up mind and needs psyciatric help.
A WHIO bump from 1989: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jMplEHNzlc
I'm afraid you've been bamboozled @Raymie. All the uploads that guy does are stolen from other channels (mostly ChenowithRules and its sister channels). Here is the original source of that clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=UyrBzBaj8ak;m=1;s=27

A rare WEHT image campaign recorded from their last months as a CBS affiliate: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h=1;id=SuxMqzF6ZWE;m=9;s=8 KBCI was still using it's KTVU-eqsue logo in 1991 (at the end is part of an ID using Advantage!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=Oy48zlre5vo;m=10;s=51

Some rare bits of KAAL from April 1989, I've heard this theme before on CJFB's Newsline, what is it called? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=lQ-dng3IcBM;m=26;s=4

Darn, I was about to post that! I did the research on Newspapers.com and that clip was recorded on August 13, 1972 (the sign off was at 12:45am of August 14, and the movie airing was the 1931 Edward G. Robinson film Little Caeser) Here's an 8:25 GMA cutin from KVIA from September 17, 1992:
-
It was a special primetime broadcast, all about something called the "His and Her Body Test"
-
I thought you'd never come back! What took so long!

Dont forget, WMBD also used the MG graphics at the time and they were also never owned by them. Maybe the creator syndicated to certain stations for the right asking price.

WNBC-TV wraps up it's broadcast day for late Friday August 31, 1979 with a slides only report of news read by Bill Rippey, an Editorial Reply, a Sermonette on life, lots of PSAs, and Arthur Gary with the sign-off message. A great clip!

Some bloopers from KIVI from 1996 & 97:

Well, we expected to get sign-offs from BigOPlabax sooner or later, here's the other 2 stations ending their day: And a KMTV sign-on:
-
I researched online, and that was from September 4, 1974, the same day as the Paul Moyer newscast uploaded a few month ago. Which means the clip uploaded today was the very first newscast with the updated Newservice logo, used until they became NewsCenter4 in March of 1976. Here is the 6pm Newservice from earlier in the day, with the original interlocking NB-KNBC and box 4 logo from 1968:

This is my 200th post! News 4 New York from October 22, 1986, the top story being the helicopter crash that killed 66 WNBC traffic reporter Jane Dornacker:

Rick Thomas has done it again, it's KNBC's Weekend Newservice from April 6, 1974: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=VlLafFp1P1c;m=1;s=28

A news report from WEAR-TV from 1980, probably the first thing we've ever found from their days as "Eyewitness News": Moving up north to Des Moines, it's 5tv's Iowa News Today from December 17, 1987, broadcasting live from the Southridge Mall:

Proof that not even LA TV news is immune to technical mishaps:
