I saw a promo for CourtTV's launch airing on Grit today. If you want anymore proof that CourtTV will take Grit's place when it debuts in May, I'll tell you that Grit's advertising base is now almost entirely comprised of 1-800 insurance/medicare/IRS ads. The all-westerns format is just a place-holder/filler for them until CourtTV is ready to go. If Grit were serious about staying on, they would at least acquire some stronger programming.

Quick question, will YT ever renable the ability to search by upload date anytime soon?

For much of the 70's, KAIL only broadcast about 4-5 hours a day, it was mostly public affairs and religious shows. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a brief period after that where the station went dark and then came back under new owners and with a stronger signal and schedule.

Here's our mystery man the late Jeff Ellingson right after he began VO work for WAFF:

They had been using that theme dating back to at least 1982, as evidenced by the end of this vid:

If ABC winds up canceling GMA Day Strahan & Sara (what are their ratings like?) and does announces a comeback for the cancelled soaps, they can only bring back one or the other, since they gave 3pm back to the affiliates back in 2012 after OLTL's replacement The Revolution, bombed. And don't expect them to cancel the View too, that show just got it's second wind by becoming another anti-Trump outlet. My money is on the older All My Children getting the reboot, but who knows?

Here's KAKE from 1994 when it was known as "Today's KAKE":

Aha! I knew you'd take my bait @Info Junkie! But next time, please give the original uploader credit! Here from the same source tape is the sign-on of WHO-TV, and the promo appears again at 8:19.

Well, congrats! Your posts don't look like that of an 18 year old, they're very professional! Did someone order some Wichita clips?

KDEB's last day as an ABC affiliate was October 5, and their newscast ended on July 25. @Info Junkie, you might want to upload this yourself, it's the rare First News/Nowhere Else campaign from WHO-TV which I previously thought was exclusive to CTV stations:

Here's KHQA in 1998 with Suzy Nelson VO and Signature:

Sinclair Broadcast Group - General Discussion

Bumping this up after a month to say that Sinclair and Bottom Line with Borris was mentioned on last night's Late Show: -
Now here's a real rarity. Channel 10 in Helena, back when it was Helena's first Fox affiliate (which after a series of affiliation switches and a hostile buyout of the IP by Gray is now KUHM, the Helena outlet of Montana PBS) had Montana's very first 9pm newscast, which was produced by KTVH under a time brokerage agreement. https://youtu.be/-x9gSICsm44?t=581

A Florida News Network special from May 1997 on preparing for hurricanes. This was produced at and recorded off WFTV, an early example of their Counterpoint/EQ Vance era. Due to bad weather and power failures, WDEF is forced to do their 11pm news for March 20, 1995 from their newsroom:

You've done it again! I'm eagarly awaiting you uploading anything from Tallahassee or Panama City! BTW, the KIVI open would've been to a 5pm or 5:30 newscast, since they aired Wheel of Fortune at 6:30pm back then (it formerly and now airs on KBOI-TV).

I was gonna post that before you did, a great use of Balls & Walls, and in such a small market too!

Promos & a Feature Presnetation intro from BET Movies (now Starz in Black) from 2000:

A year later they were using PNP:

This commercial block from WUHF from September 28, 1984 is the earliest recording I've seen of any station using Turn To News. There's also a full 1-min image sing at 5:15:

A KIEM morning update from 1989, does that look better than what they had throughout this decade?

WJLA ends the day in March of 1980, using the same audio used in the already unearthed 1986 sign-off, but with a mention of the TV Code at the begining. Also preceding the sign off is the outro to their Late Great Movie using very late 70's graphics and music, plus a brief community affairs interview segment (which I assume also aired at sign-on):

These clips of Chattanooga newscasts from November 1997 show that WDEF was still using People You Can Count On after Media General bought Park:

Some commercials from WTLV using their 2nd TVbD look: BTW, I'm Facebook friends with the guy who gave Channel 37 this tape (he's also given some material, mostly Jacksonville & Florida clips, to NewsActive3, who I'm also Facebook friends with now!).

It's the end of the broadcast day for WHO-TV in 1988:
