I read that the current entertainment president is staying with The CW under new ownership. I don't know how long he would last after all of the programming changes. He is the same guy who kept renewing shows that had horrible ratings, yet had more streaming views and were shows he liked.

Could the other soaps (GH, B&B, Y&R) move online to make room for more alternative network programming (or even additional news or syndicated product)?

WKYC had changed their graphics for the newscasts. The weather on the left is gone.

The iHeart facilities are moving to an apartment building in Downtown Cleveland. It's supposed to be smaller than the Independence facilities. As for WOIO/WUAB, it will be interesting to see how their new building will turn out. Even after the remodeling, they are still looking to get out of Reserve Square.

Chris Tanaka is leaving after today for WBZ in Boston. Also, WOIO/WUAB is considering a move to Independence. https://www.clevescene.com/news/anchor-chris-tanaka-leaving-cleveland-19-news-for-boston-station-39411978

There's always Murphy Brown reruns.

What Matters Most is now the slogan for the entire station. The rest of the newscasts have their "unique" titles.

Don't forget there have been controversial hires made at NewsNation, especially with some coming from Fox News and that one ABC exec who seems to find himself in the news more than covering it.
-
WOIO is adding more local news once again. The station is going to air two hours of news on WUAB from 7am to 9am starting next week.

That decision was made by Bill Applegate's replacement back in 2015. He didn't last long.

Does anyone know how WOIO is doing right now in the ratings? WJW, of course, is parked at #1.

WBNX has just released its Fall 2022 lineup! https://www.wbnx.com/fall-schedule

It's part of WOIO still doing some of the Action News without going full-on Action (circa 2002-12 before Romona Robinson joined the station). They sort of went back-to-basics after the Cleveland 19 News debacle.

Could Gray also add Telemundo in Cincinnati and Toledo?

Former WJW/WJKW news anchor Dave Buckel has died at the age of 85. He was at the station from 1965 until 1993. https://fox8.com/news/longtime-wjw-anchor-dave-buckel-passes-away/?fbclid=IwAR2jQM0U6JyhMF32CMu_--oaHQRuMVK48ecIp-IsO1-7OMyfkYm6abC8YTo

WOIO might be losing MeTV as Weigel has purchased W27EA-D from Media-Com.

The new logo is all over the station promos. Wise move to bring back the "TV55" identity. The last time they identified as "TV55" was in 1997 before they became an affiliate of The WB.

With all of the news lately surrounding Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns, could his wife, Emily, end up leaving WKYC? She has been the station's lifestyle reporter during football season since 2019.- 3678 replies

Could Nexstar move him back to WGN or put him on any of their stations? Perhaps they should start airing reruns of It's Garry Shandling's Show. I would watch that.

If they do go 24/7 with news, they can kiss that JAG and Blue Bloods audience goodbye (as well that who love In The Heat of the Night).

Thank you! It looked legit.

Is NewsNation really changing its name to Matlock? That seems bizarre. Unless that press release was taken from The Onion.

What caused WCLQ to not step against WOIO and WBNX, especially considering 55 was more of an Akron station and wouldn't 61 have more of a head start than 19. If 61 remained as an independent through late 1986, maybe if they picked up Fox instead of 19, it could given that station a longer lifeline.
