  1. Could Gray extend the "News First" branding to other markets?
  2. WUAB has a lot of changes starting on September 12th: Drew Barrymore moves to 10am Justice with Judge Mablean (moving from WBNX) will air at 12pm Supreme Justice with Judge Karen Mills moves to 12:30pm Paternity Court (moving from WBNX) will air at 1pm We The People with Judge Lauren Lake will air at 1:30pm Judge Mathis moved to 2pm American Housewife will air at 5pm and 5:30pm Steve Wilkos moves to 3am America's Court moves to 4am and 4:30am The rest of the lineup remains the same.
  3. At least there's not a newscast titled "What Sucks."
  4. I have seen Betsy and Laura each co-anchor at 11pm, but not Sara in recent years.
  5. Sara was started to be pushed out back when Laura arrived as the 6pm co-anchor.
  6. WKYC has announced who is anchoring the news between 4pm and 6:30pm starting next month: 4pm - Jay Crawford and Betsy Kling 5pm - Christi Paul and Carmen Blackwell 6pm - Russ Mitchell and Laura Caso https://www.wkyc.com/article/entertainment/television/programs/wkyc-studios-expand-early-evening-news-programming-4-pm-starting-september-12/95-4fc83e71-afac-47c7-90f0-10a82b9bd920
  7. On September 12, WJW is running TWO hours of New Day Cleveland from 10am until noon, a full-hour of informercials at 1pm and TWO hours of Judge Judy from 2pm to 4pm.
  8. WKYC is launching a 4pm newscast on September 12. It will have the "What's New" title, while the 5pm news will become "What's Now."
  9. I can see The CW moving to WJW 8.2 more so than 8.1. It would be awkward to see ads for The CW on "Fox 8," especially since WUAB is still affiliated with CW. Would a move to 8.2 have been more of a slam dunk if WBNX was still affiliated with the network?
  10. An update regarding the move to Independence: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cleveland.com/community/2022/08/gray-television-which-owns-woio-19-and-wuab-43-clears-hurdle-in-potential-move-to-independence.html%3foutputType=amp
  11. Chris Licht is obviously cleaning house. It is not a surprise that Brian wasn't going to last under new management. Here's more on the departure and cancellation: https://www.thewrap.com/cnn-brian-stelter-jim-acosta-don-lemon/
  12. I read that the current entertainment president is staying with The CW under new ownership. I don't know how long he would last after all of the programming changes. He is the same guy who kept renewing shows that had horrible ratings, yet had more streaming views and were shows he liked.
  13. Could the other soaps (GH, B&B, Y&R) move online to make room for more alternative network programming (or even additional news or syndicated product)?

WKYC had changed their graphics for the newscasts. The weather on the left is gone.
  15. The iHeart facilities are moving to an apartment building in Downtown Cleveland. It's supposed to be smaller than the Independence facilities. As for WOIO/WUAB, it will be interesting to see how their new building will turn out. Even after the remodeling, they are still looking to get out of Reserve Square.
  16. Chris Tanaka is leaving after today for WBZ in Boston. Also, WOIO/WUAB is considering a move to Independence. https://www.clevescene.com/news/anchor-chris-tanaka-leaving-cleveland-19-news-for-boston-station-39411978
  17. She will be on the 5pm and 6pm newscasts, though there are rumors she will anchor a 4pm newscast.

What Matters Most is now the slogan for the entire station. The rest of the newscasts have their "unique" titles.
  19. Don't forget there have been controversial hires made at NewsNation, especially with some coming from Fox News and that one ABC exec who seems to find himself in the news more than covering it.
  20. I thought Christi would join WJW. She would fit in well there. It would be interesting to see who will join her at 4 on WKYC.
  21. WOIO is adding more local news once again. The station is going to air two hours of news on WUAB from 7am to 9am starting next week.
  22. WOIO is adding more local news next week on WUAB between 7am and 9am.
  23. That decision was made by Bill Applegate's replacement back in 2015. He didn't last long.
