WYFF from 1993!!!! 2 months later they would go JCBD.

I present news opens from another station that screams consistency. @ColDayNews

News open compilations technically fall under fair use, correct? Cause they’re a “history of a station’s imaging over the years.” A “NewsCenter 39” update from 1980. Anyone recognize the music?

His voice sounds so DEEP! And just look at him now... It’s a sad thing, but voice decay happens when ya get older. Also next for compilations is Chattanooga. I plan on wrapping them up by Dec. break. It’s time for me (The ID Junkie) to move on to a new hobby. But don’t worry, I’m still a TV news geek. Speaking of KDFW, a Clarice Tinsley 40 year tribute! Includes a snippet of her at WITI, complete with an open from that period! (5:43)

Ever wanted to see WSBT’s “The Hour” open? Now you can! (1:31)

Discovered composers & publishers of music themes
Info Junkie replied to promoguy98's topic in News Music & Voiceovers
@AJClementeFan69 and @Ramona confirmed in another thread that WFLD 1994 is a Crane production. Looks like the NMSA needs another music name change... How long does it take the NMSA to identify anything, anyway? -
I did a while ago, he hasn’t responded.

Now that’s a great thing to wake up too! WLNE’s graphics looked very nice for their time, they had a similar look upon joining ABC: All in all the look and logo itself were enough to be used at WRGB:

I couldn’t find WHTM’s take on the KDFW “Hello News” pack in that link you shared... And that KTVI “News Center 2” era must’ve been in use after this, which was April 1980: Also, unrelated, but I also found a KOVR show from January 1992:
-
A WVTM news segment from 1986, no open: Was the unified look that KDFW/KTVI/KTBC had used at ALL Times-Mirror stations?
-
The KOLR 10 News from 1986:

The guy who runs the channel, @NewsStar2, is on TVNT. Pinging him now, if he’s active.
-
A KTUL report from 2005 Btw I plan on doing Wilkes-Barre, PA news opens next, to finish up everything else aside from WNEP (which was done back in February). If anyone can find or know of any WBRE material from the 80s, please let me know.

Looks like I’ve identified a VO! Or technically, NW Directions did. WJLA’s VO from 1987 to 1994/5 was named Sheldon Smith.
-
An update on KTSM - they’re using “This is the Place.” Somebody phone Mr. NMSA. Updating my montage now, found the new open at the end (though it was recorded by pointing a camera at a TV):
-
And here it is, now including anything before CBS.
-
Ouch. That is cheaper than the sound a baby chick makes. (Heh heh heh... ) Anyways you like Des Moines? (Vince was gone 4 months later to anchor in Providence, RI): Or El Paso? (Btw I’m gonna update my KTSM video once i have the new opens they just unveiled sent to me - apparently they don’t livestream?)
-
What open were they using during the 1989 earthquake? This one or something else?
-
And how about THIS?

And yet Park dumped tons of resources into its Virginia outlets... Posting this because KSL is legit one of the best TV stations ever. Next week... Viva Las Vegas!
-
A WPVI 5:00 promo using The Vogues’ song “Five O’Clock World.” Fitting.

Urk. I recall when that WHBQ open first got posted we all agreed KCRA’s take on it was better. However I do believe WHBQ had more than just 6pm & 10pm. A YT user named Shaun Fossett (who was a member on this site back in the day) told me they had a morning newscast (2 hour) and a noon newscast (half hour). They also had a 5pm news at some point too. But still, WHBQ was a market laggard. Which is why I ain’t doing Memphis news opens...

I’ve alerted him already via conversation. While I assemble my KSTU compilation, here’s a clip I stumbled upon from early 2005(?) This was definitely the last package they used “News Source” with.
