  1. And from the same market as KKTV, we have a KOAA open from 1993, still using NBC: The Place To Be long past its retirement: Id also point out this was back when Cordillera was one of those companies that did things on the cheap.
  2. A WNYT commercial block from 1992 - incorporating their then 5-month old News Channel 13 name in all the bumpers like they do now.
  3. I find WBRE’s 2005 graphics package to be a complete downgrade from the VDO package they had previous.
  4. Straight from Mike Piggott’s channel, it’s “Lafayette Live” TV-18 News from 1996:
  5. WCBS promotes Bernie Smilovitz on his 2-year break from Detroit in 1994.
  6. I don’t know what’s worse - the fact they literally copied the CBS Evening News L3’s or the fact that WSLS transitioned to the MG look way earlier than WDEF did. Or the fact that WSLS’s pre-MG graphics looked halfway decent despite Park ownership.
  7. @NESTLEH TheOpensGuy beat you to the punch again: To accommodate this I might update WCVB. EDIT: I should’ve put this in the Classic Vid Thread.
  8. At last we see WKRC’s version of the Taft TV Station IDs.
  9. Well said TL. If you haven’t noticed lately, I’ve been updating Atlanta as we speak. I recently updated WAGA, but I accidentally deleted the 1977 opens while in the middle of editing, as well as a 1995-96 5:30 open. https://youtu.be/TomDCY4b-t0
  10. MrSurferOne is STILL stealing @compubit‘s videos without permission.
  11. Did WRGB debut In-Sink before the 1998 rebrand? (Go to the end of the video)
  12. KTTV is now using... Jeff Collins?!
  13. And what did I tell ya! Over 25 mins of my favorite TV station in Denver!
  14. I actually might... I’m targeting Atlanta as well... Jacky has been updating the ID montages from Shreveport, too.
  15. This is an utter gold mine. I’ve always loved KCNC’s opens, especially all the opens that showed shots of Denver with the “Image” package playing... Newsmusic Central’s work at KCNC is so underrated. And wow, Carlos Amezcua worked there?
  16. Do we have proof they were the first to use News People? This KSTP ID has people SINGING the classic 4-note tune to The News Image!
  17. Yesterday, WTEN’s Elisa Streeter bid farewell after 30 years anchoring news. I got her retirement video on camera last night, as I had trouble accessing their livestream.
  18. Happy “News” Year! 65 years ago today, Greenville, SC got a new TV station. That station evolved to be what we know as WYFF. Here’s a look back.
  19. 17 years ago today, NBC moved affiliations in the San Francisco Bay Area. The result was all three (later four) networks owning a Bay Area TV station, KRON not only losing NBC but also ratings, and Young Broadcasting ending up in bankruptcy by the end of the decade due to its KRON purchase.
  20. I posted that already lol. And I actually pinged you as well.
  21. Ive got one word for y’all: @Ramona!!!!!
  22. How long did it last? Couldn’t have been more than a year, as by 1993 they had toned down with this pack, and Nick Michaels (RIP): I actually read an article from WBBM from March 1992 that they were forcing Charlie Van Dyke out and replacing him with Chapin...
  23. A WBBM documentary on the Flood Of 1992... it appears they had gone tabloid by this point, I think... What was WBBM like under Tabloid TV? Any idea @24994J? I know they got rid of Jacobson and had this obnoxious open:
  24. ’Tis THE News, from March 1985. The open features one of the (possibly last) times any newscast used “The Eleventh Hour.”
