Has mission broadcasting reached a deal with DirecTV?

KFQX was shut off at 4:03PM this afternoon. I'll be curious to see how long this lasts, what's odd with KFQX is there is nothing mentioning the dropping of FOX4 at Westernslopenow.com

AWESOME!!!!!! THANKS FOR THE LINK!!!

Have you all read this article about ABC NEWS producer James Gordon Meek? If not, it's an interesting read: https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-features/fbi-raid-abc-news_producer-1234613619/

Hmmm, Maybe providers can replace it with Weather Nation TV, who doesn't seem to have as big of a national foot print.

Did Great Day Colorado replace Colorado's Best?? What is new is that the 4 Pm is now an hour news cast, used to be 30mins. The Goldbergs had been airing at Midnight M-Th on KTVD since January.

KUSA doesn't brand it's cut in's any differently than a regular newscast normal graphics too. (they haven't had an announcer in quite some time open a newscast *2 years*)

Ion Programing from 4PM-12:00AM. Out of the Denver stations KDVR & KWGN have the most changes year over year followed by KUSA & KCNC. This is one of the bigger changes to lineups that I can remember in recent memory for the Denver tv stations. As per usual KTVD, KWGN & KCDO are the dumping grounds for most of the syndicated programing in Denver market. I think that KCNC adding back news @9AM is a big deal as well as NBC NEWS Daily over on KUSA it gives both stations some opportunities to add news programing to the lineup. Ring Nation is not cleared here in Denver. I kinda wish KUSA would drop Colorado & Company it's pay to play program and shift the TODAY 4th hour into it's proper time slot and add more newscasts, but wishful thinking on my part. And having Dateline on during the middle of the day seems odd to me, I know most NBC Stations are doing it but wow, strange.

At 1:22 & 1:52 PM KUSA cut in with an update. These news updates were 5mins each, typically a "TODAY SHOW" news update is around 2:30 mins. I wasn't expecting a local news update to be honest. I'm curious are other stations doing local news cut ins?

NewsNation is pathetic when it comes to breaking news, hell Thursday, "NewsNet" & One America News were both covering the news out of the UK regarding the Queen. At this point it's fair to say News Nation is simply a pass through news network focused on only domestic news and a poor one at that. NO ONE I know watches News Nation, no one I know has ever heard of News Nation.

KDVR & KWGN have been loosing a lot of folks the past few months. And from what I can tell they currently have 7 on-air positions open right now all for the FOX Side of the operation-KDVR/KFCT. They also have 9 technical slots open (Photographer, Master Control, ect for KWGN & KDVR/KFCT). I have been following all of the departures on my blog over the past several months.

News Nation, behind on the news!!! Saw this gem today : The Atlantic Hurricane season started June 1st. There weather department may want to go check in with the folks over at Weather Nation, so they know what's happening in the tropics.
-
Interesting move! Here in Denver KUSA will time shift the new news program to 2PM Day's Of Our Live's current time shifted slot. I'm sure it's so they don't have to mess with Daily Blast Live.
-
So basically News Nation is the reject news channel? Interesting approach. And so much for "NO OPINION, JUST NEWS" programing.

WBZ/Boston (and other CBS O&Os?) to Rebrand Newscasts?
DENDude replied to bostonmediaguy's topic in General TV
It will be CBS News Colorado, they are already headed in that direction with the streaming service. I'm thinking sometime in the fall they will rebrand the newscasts to CBS News Colorado. -

KDVR/KFCT & KWGN have been loosing a lot of folks in the past month or so.

Well, it will be interesting to see how they utilize the truck during May when severe Weather starts happening more. But at what point do these vehicles become too much of a distraction from actually Forecasting and watching severe weather??

MY 53 (KMSG, Fresno) using unlicensed music?
DENDude replied to newsn8te's topic in News Music & Voiceovers
it's KMSG-LP not KSMG, That is a Radio station in Seguin, TX. -
What issues do KDVR & KWGN have?? Their ratings seem to be okay, esp KDVR..
-
I think the news will be anchored from 30 Rock tonight it will be interesting to see how that works. It could also be that Tyler Matheson or someone else just fills in over on CNBC.

Last night with the Russia Ukraine blowup, it felt like they were not prepared to cover it. There was a period after the president had finished talking where they went to commercial and took there time coming back from the break at least 5 mins.

One of my favorite packages was the December 1992- September 1995 graphics package that KCNC shared with WNBC. I have always thought it was a clean look & way ahead of the other Denver stations at the time. Forgot to mention, I also enjoyed the 2005-2008 Aqua blue & white graphics package that WBBH used as seen here.

TWC has so far had great coverage of the winter storm back east. Even if they are still using there stupid naming system.
