FOX Weather has been okay so far during the blizzard back east this weekend, however I think TWC has been doing a lot more in-depth coverage.
-
I think a big problem that the TODAY show has is that Comcast doesn't seem to have the same handle on what's going on day to day with the show. I think when GE owned NBC, NBC NEWS was a much much better run organization.
-
They may have, but it was still on the cable system guide & in the Denver Post guide through this past Friday.

KWGN has dropped it's 11PM Newscast as of Friday October 8, 2021.

What is up with the Audio tonight on Nightly News? It's has been very low and hard to hear. Then going to commercial at around the :15 min mark, you could hear Lester asking about the bad audio. It's bad tonight.

It's going to be interesting to see just how well this new streaming service does, or if it's gone after a year or so. It would be cool to see a side by side comparison of FOX Weather with The Weather Channel, Weather Nation TV & AccuWeather. It's good that they are being overseen by the news department, that should give it some credibility.

The KMGH Studios have been sold: (Heads up there is a paywall) https://www.bizjournals.com/denver/news/2021/07/16/denver7-speer-apartments-sold-pmg-greybrook.html

How low do you think the upcoming morning program's ratings are going to be in relation to in the heat of the night & blue bloods reruns? Right now things don't look so good for the rest of there news programing. Yikes!
-
I hope Comcast wins this, Hopefully it forces the station to go back to Scripps whether they want it or not...
-
Probably a good idea, but Scripps dosn't own NewsNet so how is that going to work?
-
Why not post the old TV Clips to Vemo's video player?, there isn't a lot of content over there.
-
A little change to you listing here: KRDO & KUSA are news share partners, and KOAA & KMGH are now sister stations because Scripps purchased Cordillera Communications on May 1, 2019.

Found this while goofing around online this afternoon the "Big Switch" in Denver, a throwback segment from KUSA-TV: (Too bad they don't show the Phil Hartman promo that aired right before the first 9NEWS@5 as an NBC station).

Is it me or does Nexstar seem to be afraid of digital? What I mean is, you don't see nexstar stations trying new digital things & live streaming appears to be very inconsistent across nexstar stations . While KDVR did launch "FOX31 NOW" that is just an online stream & it's minimal effort at that, mainly traffic accidents, weather ect. For example: KXRM has very little in the way of live streaming on it's website, it does stream all of it's newscasts but that is about it. KREX & KFQX have no live streaming options available at there website. Again inconsistent across there footprint. I think that should be focus for Nexstar instead of pet projects like News Nation, which is a dumpster fire in of it's self.

TEGNA Broadcasting and Digital General Discussion
DENDude replied to ABC 7 Denver's topic in Corporate Chat
Let me add one more thing here: It appears that Tegna needs to take a hard look at who it is & isn't hiring, I believe things could get nasty for them quickly if they don't get out ahead of it and make a few adjustments.- 3685 replies

TEGNA Broadcasting and Digital General Discussion
DENDude replied to ABC 7 Denver's topic in Corporate Chat
I wouldn't mind seeing a new N/D at KUSA/KTVD. Maybe they would go back to covering news instead of so much non news stuff (like science experiments, entertainment news, ect).- 3685 replies

Discovered composers & publishers of music themes
DENDude replied to promoguy98's topic in News Music & Voiceovers
The "USA NEWS" package by non-stop that was used on KUSA was used only as a closer for the 6PM & 10PM newscasts. The "KUSA 1995 News theme" wasn't used very long it was on-air from April 1995 (graphics refresh)--September 9, 1995 and used on the 4PM & Midday newscasts (11AM or Noon at that time), it was dropped as soon as KUSA took on the NBC Affiliation. -
Thanks CircleSeven that's what I wanted to know!!!

TEGNA Broadcasting and Digital General Discussion

Tegna starting a Master Control hub in Charlotte at WCNC--I wonder what stations they will be running out of there? And does this mean that NBC News Channel is no longer at WCNC? https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/supervisor-broadcast-hub-operations-at-tegna-2433082877 As it stands now Tegna has 2 hubs going, Jacksonville, FL at (WTLV/WJXX) for NBC, ABC & My Network TV stations & (WLTX) in Greensboro SC for CBS, CW, & FOX Stations.- 3685 replies

-
Sports Director Arran Andersen left KUSA & KTVD at the end of December & is now freelancing. He joined KUSA/KTVD in October 2019 after Drew Soicher's contract wasn't renewed.

Quick question about the NextGen rollout---is KCNC not participating yet? They don't seem to be listed as being hosted on KWGN or KMGH..
-
I would think yes, the building was set up for 1960s TV, plus I've read in the past that due to the building limits that is why McGraw-Hill installed "Parker Vision" the computerized master control system, because they didn't have room to add equipment to KMGH's master control. Plus now they have KCDO3 there with them and all of that master control equipment. And I think it might not get knocked down very fast, esp if the city has already filled for historic status. The KMGH studios aren't nearly as big as the 9NEWS/My20 studios down the street or the FOX31 News & Technology Center.
-
I think KCNC has been in there facility longer, they moved in to there current studio facilities in May of 1966. KMGH/KLZ has been on that block in it's entire existence it started in a converted car dealership, where the satellites are located now.
-
Scripps has announced that the KMGH & KCDO Studio facility is up for sale. They are now fighting with Denver County over historic status for the building. I have it posted on my blog. https://coloradonewscenter.blogspot.com/ Here is paperwork from the county about the property: https://www.denvergov.org/files/assets/public/community-planning-and-development/documents/landmark-preservation/demo-cde-postings/2021-demos_cdes/123speerboulevard_cdeapplication.pdf
