They did with the old one too. They had no qualms about doing wide shots.
-
Nextar and Tribune before them have always had good Fox looks. This continues the trend.

I wouldn't be surprised if KYW is the next O&O to fully shed the channel number from its branding. The Eye-3 logo is really only vestige of it left as they don't mention 3 at all verbally. Everything is "CBS Philadelphia" and "CBS News Philadelphia". They might as well just finish peeling off the band-aid already.

Inside the NBA is dead. Chuck said he's retiring after '25 and Ernie said he's not leaving Turner. If NBC can land Shaq and or Kenny then fine but whatever studio show they develop won't be anything close to Inside. I'm guessing they'll probably have one of their windows named Basketball Night in America.

Yeah the Greek alphabet is my odds on favorite. Also they haven't actually used all the letters in the Latin alphabet yet. They've used A-G, then jumped to N, then S and then T was the original Telemundo O&O/Nextar package so there are plenty of letters at their disposal.

One should have nothing to do with the other.

They could wait till the Winter Games in 2026 (also a Super Bowl year for NBC). There's some prescience for that. Look F was rolled out leading up to the 2012 games which also were a Super Bowl year. I agree Look S still looks very good and on par with the other O&O designs. I just hope they don't plan on waiting till then to update their stations' logos to the new Peacock design.

Pretty sure they started that back when they debuted their current set.

KYW picked up the new morning cut of Dimensional that KPIX and now WCBS are using:

I was reading about this yesterday and it turns out they really had no interest in renewing due to low ratings and purposely lowballed them with their offer.
-
Little update on this; John Tesh says all they have to do is give him a call if they win the package. The Fox license isn't exclusive: http://amp.awfulannouncing.com/nbc/john-tesh-roundball-rock-nba-media-rights.html
-
They'll probably have to wrestle away the license from Fox but I'm sure that won't be a hindrance. The current (or Current) RSN theme is a pretty good #2 option though.

That wall isn't a 16:9 aspect ratio so if they ditched the sidebar and filled the entire thing with whatever they're presenting, it would be a distorted picture. I guess their thinking behind putting what they did there is it gives the presenter a place to stand without blocking any information. I also thought they'd update the backdrop behind the anchors. That still uses elements from the old look. Overall though I love this look and WPVI's implementation of it.
-
I would say reserve your judgement till it fully debuts. That was just the generic version (notice no talent was mentioned). I think regular opens will feature some more of the cool elements that we've from the other stations including the live time and weather and maybe some scenery or even headshots of the talent.
-
Prime Sports would be a nice throwback to the old PrimeTicket networks.
-
PVI has the new weather graphics and are also using the new look in image and syndie programming promos. Really the only place they aren't using it yet are the newscasts. Maybe both stations are waiting for the May books?

Another update, Telemundo 62's 11PM news has been shifted back a half hour to 11:30. It's pretty clear now 10 and 62 are sharing the space. Now what it is they're doing in 10's studio, that's still to be determined.

It's a lot more. Here are the two sets from the designer's website: https://jhdgroup.net/portfolio/nbc-10-news-studio-philadelphia/ https://jhdgroup.net/portfolio/telemundo-62-news-studio-philadelphia/ Both sets have seen refreshes over the 6 years since they moved in the but the layout's the same. Just based off all the evidence, I'm going to say WCAU is in WWSI's studio. I'll venture to say WWSI's news that runs concurrent with WCAU's is beyond pre-recorded.
-
Not sure how that's possible unless they're prerecording the Telemundo newscast.
-
More pics. I now think it's WCAU that's in a temp location. There's three studios at the Comcast Technology Center so if one of the active studios needed to be taken out of commission they could broadcast out of the third.
-
-
That's what was the Telemundo 62 studio. I'm guessing WCAU is getting a new/refreshed set.
-
Depends on the market

WCAU uses the NWS sites plus WNBC's site in Edison which has pretty good reach into the region. It just misses southern Delaware but gets the rest of the region very well. Plus they still do have the Storm Ranger. Pre pandemic they did have a building permit to put up a fixed site in Aston, PA (someone here actually found it) but I dunno what became of it. I'm guessing it was scrapped.
