I mean with the upgrades in Philly, Raleigh, and NY maybe. But Nah, I believe this upgrade been in the works for a couple years, they had to redo the entire building. Here some stills of the new studio. That I captured.

Some folks will still remain in Raleigh, but for now all newscasts are headed back from Durham I believe they’ve been working on this for years. Disney sure is investing in its stations recently with WABC getting its new home, and WTVD upgraded home looks like Mickey Mouse is calling an early Christmas.

ABC 7 Eyewitness News thread
GraphicsMan replied to bogusabc7breakingnews's topic in Los Angeles News
She probably gonna try to rebuild her house first someone in the forum told me it burned down in the Eaton Fire so that’s probably priority. -
It looks nice, reminds me of the network a little.
-
Oh that explains that I was about to say that would be really quick to get from New York to Washington. That’s a 4 hour drive.
-
I sorta saw Maurice departure coming. He was either gonna go to network at some point. As for Lonnie never thought he be part of the package deal but CBS is doing something different by adding a meteorologist to the picture as if there brining morning news to the evening news. It will be interesting. I can see Maurice advancing to solo anchor of the EN if John leaves it. I don’t see him coming back to WCBS after this opportunity.

Probably just one newscast a day I would buy WDNI Telemundo Indy. Obviously Telemundo hasn’t yanked there affiliation for not having a newscast. So obviously Telemundo doesn’t force it’s stations to do news unlike the English networks do especially before and after network news shows. Univision appears the same too.
-
Obviously broadcasting is not his thing, either he doesn’t wanna go big budget or he’s a shoestring media owner. Instead of getting investors to buy big networks how about you reinvest in what you currently have. If he wanted to go into broadcasting maybe buy a few tv stations, every broadcast group started small he grew really fast and obviously wasn’t ready for it. Some will say we’re being hard on him because he’s black, when the truth is he’s just not a good broadcaster and that’s okay. I tell ya this I do not want to be a television station owner it seems stressful. If I did own a television station maybe a few stations I wouldn’t want to be a major owner. Because there be more shoestring budgets and it would be less stressful and profitable they’re are many station owners who own only a few stations and there profitable and they can do virtually whatever they want. I’d have general manager at all stations, and probably no news programming at all unless the network demanded it. My dream would be to own a Telemundo station, maybe give that a news department.

There at least trying to promote him to some extent.

Not local definitely none of the New York local news stations except for WNJU stayed on the air commercial free for those 6 days. It was mostly network and cable that stayed on continuously with no interruption. No local station can sustain being on air for that long of a time. When Hurricane Florence hit NC my local stations did maybe 2 1/2 days if I recall for coverage straight 24/7 maybe 3 days. After Hurricane Harvey I heard KTRK did 5 days non stop but 6 days is impossible at some point the GM has to say hey we’re losing to much money, we have to cut off. Keep in mind LA stations are also loaning crews from their sister stations look I have no business or finance degree but that a lot of upkeep. This is not gonna outdo 9/11, if there already breaking the revolving door will come for the other stations. Tommorow the fire will be manageable.
-
Yeah that’s commitment right there. They always outdo themselves.
-
WABC did take a break in the overnight hours when 9/11 happened. In fact they weren’t even on 24/7. Yeah a lot of money will be lost in ad revenue. But they have big budgets though this ain’t some smaller market station.

ABC changing their logo; New graphics coming for ABC owned stations
GraphicsMan replied to Briella's topic in Graphics
Doubt it remember KGO didn’t adopt KABC’s variation until 2006. I don’t think they will. -
I remember when the west coast stations only showed time and temp in the morning shows only. It was the way for many west coast stations even after the early 00s the East coast stations had given up already on doing that by then. But stations on the west coast kept doing as far as 2012.
-
Well then it’s a clear promotion for him, I’m happy for him. He deserves it. Let’s just hope he stays for a long time obviously they flashed him a lot of money.
-
I don’t think he departing from WCBS he just leaving a few newscasts. I think he’ll remain at 11pm.
-
Wonder who will replace imh John and Barbara Gibbs were great they been a team as long as I’ve been alive. They are the most watched morning news in the Triangle.

WVBS posted a tweet about it in the day of the announcement, and Maurice posted it in his own instagram.

There there was WMGM they fought very hard to keep their NBC affiliation. was WMGM-TV s fought hard to stay the only station in the state just couldn’t do it.

I still don't like how there “lead anchor” in local news what’s the point of that? Do they have a say in the newscast I can never get an explanation from anyone in the business. That is why I ask about talent order because my questions aren't being answered.
-
Wonder how the talent order will go will it be Sade Baderwina and Mike Marza or Mike Marza and Sade Baderwina at 5pm and 11pm coming next year. Maybe they'll be no talent open since they both will spilt the “lead anchors” role.
