jtgh922 18 Posted August 10, 2012 Share Posted August 10, 2012 Happened to be fliiping channels today and noticed a 4pm newscast on WNBC anchored by Chuck Scarborough and Shiba Russell. Its even listed on the cablevision program guide as "News 4 New York at 4." Is this a permanent change or just an experiment? Anyone with inside info? 24994J 5278 Posted August 10, 2012 Share Posted August 10, 2012 WMAQ has had 4pm newscasts all through the Olympics (versus 30 min at 4:30)...they showed Ellen today at 3pm, but I'm guessing WNBC wanted to do something similar and take advantage of the lead-in, instead of losing the audience to Judge Judy or First@4. jtgh922 18 Posted August 20, 2012 Author Share Posted August 20, 2012 I'd like to see WNBC add a 7-9AM newscast to the Nonstop channel (as KXAS in Dallas has done) in addition to the 7pm newscast. Move New York Live to Nonstop so it can stay an hour program. Its useless as a 30 minute show, in my opinion. Furthermore, what's the need for 3 hosts on a 30 minute talk show? (22 if u count commercials) Finally, I feel that Contessa Brewer should be added to WNBC's roster full time. She is an extremely talented anchor, who is being wasted as a substitute.
