24994J 5629 Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Since she does sports between 4:30a - 7 AM, and just returned from maternity leave after having a baby, my guess would be she wants to be off air between 7 AM - 8 AM so that she can pump her breast milk [...] Having the baby alone is reason enough...and that would've been enough.
anchorman 96 Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 I think it's fairly obvious that Jodi will be permanent. It will be interesting to see how WCBS plays this. Personally, I think Kerney is not a good fit for the show, and would rather see Jodi, Carolina, and (groan) John.
tvnewsjunkie 7 Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 is it possible that WLNY could be expanding their programing and giving jodi her own hour?
WizOz 3 Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Could do a 9 am-!0 am slot, a noon slot, or a late afternoon 4pm or 5pm ?? Maybe Jill Nicolini with her in some capacity ? The PIX connection ??
tvnewsjunkie 7 Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 im sure they will add a 4pm slot like wabc.
Geoffrey 873 Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 im sure they will add a 4pm slot like wabc. You're sure? Because their morning and evening newscasts are doing so well?
tvknowledge 5 Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Not true at all. Ratings for the Couch have never been higher than a .2 for total household televisions. The preferred viewer breakdown for males, females and adults ages 25-54 is 0. As good as Jody is compared to the other three (who have no business being hosts of a 2 hour show), no one knows she's on. If Jill decided to leave channel 5 on her own, the only rational for Jill N. to move over there is for an eventual position at channel 2. Unless, their thinking of rebranding the whole show with Jill and Jody and giving that a shot. Or maybe get a slot on the 9 o'clock News which is showing very modest growth.

tvknowledge 5 Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 What are the ratings for The 9pm? We're only able to see morning ratings in the agency package but the nightside people said the TV10/55 news doubled its viewership over the last year. Still a very small number overall but slowly rising and thats how they present it to advertisers
ToriElectra 292 Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Also, I'm hoping they'll get the new CBS graphics for the 9PM news soon; I like them way better than the current/old ones. (You would think that they would have got them when WCBS did, so presumably they're working on them.) Also, I think that it should be rebranded to WLNY TV10/55 PrimeNews, as to emphasize the fact that's it's the only newscast that airs in primetime (not counting WNBC's NY Nightly News, but does anyone even watch that?).
IceManNYR 240 Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Carolina Bermudez returned to The Couch today along side John and Jodi. I wonder if Lisa is back to just doing sports on WCBS?
WizOz 3 Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 They need to keep Jodi on daily. Maybe go an hour or 2 longer on the early side.
BehindNYNews 147 Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 They need to keep Jodi on daily. Maybe go an hour or 2 longer on the early side. They don't have their own set so they would be doing The Couch and CBS 2 News This Morning in the same room...
anchorman 96 Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Lisa Kerney is officially out at "The Couch" she will continue her sports duties at CBS2 This Morning full time.
JoseRM303 171 Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Lisa Kerney is officially out at "The Couch" she will continue her sports duties at CBS2 This Morning full time. That sucks
anchorman 96 Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 That sucks For her, yes. I am thrilled that Jodi has not only found permanent work again, but it's a great get for WLNY to add Jodi. I am a huge fan of Carolina and her potential, I think they'll mesh well.
IceManNYR 240 Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Katie McGee has left WCBS/WLNY. She said her husband got a job with the NFL Network based in CA so they are moving to the west coast. http://newyork.cbslocal.com/video/9506430-the-couch-says-goodbye-to-reporter-katie-mcgee/
IceManNYR 240 Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Jodi is done co-hosting on The Couch. Jill is now a co-host with Carolina and John. Alex is still doing the live remote segments till she goes on maternity leave.
anchorman 96 Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 That's a shame, there were many inclinations she was to be permanent. There are some behind the scenes changes as well that may have affected it. Diana Miller, the exec producer of The Couch, is departing for CBS News.
IceManNYR 240 Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 With Carolina Bermudez out on leave and Jill off today Lisa Kerney was co-host of The Couch today with John. Alex is still doing traffic. I wonder if Jill moves over to WCBS doing traffic when Alex goes on maternity leave and still is co-host of The Couch?
anchorman 96 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 With Carolina Bermudez out on leave and Jill off today Lisa Kerney was co-host of The Couch today with John. Alex is still doing traffic. I wonder if Jill moves over to WCBS doing traffic when Alex goes on maternity leave and still is co-host of The Couch? I would say that Jill probably does both. After all, John and Lisa did both. The Couch seems to be a hot mess, though. That show hasn't been stable since it's launch. Carolina's surgery was very much serious and had to be done, but between both Lisa and Carolina bring on maternity, then Jodi filling in, then Lisa being removed from the show, to then Jodi ending her fill in duties to make way for Jill Nicolini? The show lacks an identity. I don't get why they wouldn't keep Jodi on, unless she turned down an offer. I don't get why she would, considering it's the perfect schedule for her as a new mother.
