who?cares 255 Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 I find it weird that the former Nexstar stations have switched to the new layouts, but WTHR and WBNS remain status quo for now.
JCB4TV 351 Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 (edited) New website and, apparently, a new logo for WQAD. See for yourself. Edited February 14, 2020 by JCB4TV 1 4

LOWERCASE GUY 282 Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 Someone's getting ready to get some Clapping & Chanting with CClarity!! (Look at the Weather Graphic in the middle!) 3
TheRyan 560 Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 (edited) That new logo for WQAD, if it's actually what they'll be using OTA, looks uninspired. Edited February 14, 2020 by TheRyan 2

MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie 948 Posted February 15, 2020 Posted February 15, 2020 Basically KFMB but with ABC instead of CBS eye

Does Tegna drop the "Local" branding from WATN and WOI I know that was a Nexstar thing. Guess we will find out in the coming days and weeks.

Guess we will find out in the coming days and weeks. They definitely will. It doesn't comport with their branding policies. ABC24.com redirects to LocalMemphis.com currently. So ABC24.com will become the root domain. WeAreIowa.com may remain the same, but it could redirect to ABC5Iowa.com as well, to align closer to Tegna's branding standards. That's a most definite as using Local 'Channel Number' as branding isn't so much of a thing anymore except for maybe a handful of TV stations these days. They'll most likely be re-branded as WATN 24 and WOI 5 on the non-news side of things. As for newscasts, a return to the generic "Channel 5 News" or "News 5" branding would probably be the most logical direction WOI to go at this point. WATN may require some "creativity" to say the least as a means of moving ratings in the right direction. 17 minutes ago, ABC 7 Denver said: They definitely will. ABC 5 (WOI-TV/DT) carried the Eyewitness News name from 2001-06 and (WATN) ABC 24 also carried it as well from 2000-10 back when they were WPTY. 1
Webovision 202 Posted February 18, 2020 Posted February 18, 2020 the ratings will surely surge under the eyewitness news brand.... nothing better than a 70's gimmick to bring the viewers in... 1 1

So it's most certainly either ABC 5 or WOI 5. So either they pickup WOI5.com or they keep ABC5Iowa.com as the root. The latter is cheaper. 2 1

Samantha 2902 Posted February 18, 2020 Posted February 18, 2020 Yo, let's calm down. Sure, channel numbers are useful for most stations. But not all of them. A good local brand is decided by figuring out what has brand equity and will resonate with viewers. Obviously, in Charlotte and Austin, that hasn't been a channel number for the Tegna stations in a long time. 5
CircleSeven 1960 Posted February 18, 2020 Posted February 18, 2020 KDVR/KWGN's GM Joan Barrett will become the new President/GM of Charlotte's WCNC. 1
