Either call them by their brand, or just stick to the calls. Be professional. Just noticed that the writer was a former KYW sports staffer (see the bio at the bottom), so that probably explains why they're a little testy about the station now. I'd just use 'channel 3' myself, but it's Philly media and you know how they can get. 1 1

phillynewslover 166 Posted April 3 Posted April 3 This is totally random, but I've been watching Drew Barrymore a lot lately and I noticed that the temperature on KYW's time/temperature bug is stuck at 57 degrees. It's currently 61 degrees at the airport. It's been at 57 degrees for weeks. The time does change each minute, though. I guess nobody has noticed. I think KYW is one of the only CBS O&Os that has a time/temperature bug anyway. It and WPSG are the only Philly stations that have one.

I remember before they switched to "CBS Philadelphia" news, the weather bug was off often. If it was 90-95 outside, it was 101 on the bug. 1

It was close enough for a while, but now it's not even close to 57 degrees. It's 90 at the airport right now. I wonder if they'll finally notice it now that it's wildly incorrect. I also remember the bug going up to and over 100 degrees. Even though the last time we actually hit 100 degrees (other than last year) was back in 2012. Edited April 16 by phillynewslover 1

It's fixed now. Ironically the real temperature is 56 degrees, which is only one off, but it does actually say that now. The degree symbol is gone, but at least the temperature is right. I guess that heat got them to realize it was wrong. 1

Jan Carabello will add Wed-Fri duties alongside Janelle, while remaining on weekends. Janelle will host solo on Mondays and Tuesdays. Edited 13 hours ago by TVNewsLover 1
TheNewsTV 343 Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago What a strange schedule. Will Josh Sidorowicz continue at 7 AM or will Jan Carabello do that too? I suppose Natasha Brown will continue at noon.
TVNewsLover 861 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Honestly think a better use of their resources is to shift Siafa to the mornings with Janelle and let Natasha handle afternoons/evenings with Ukee. I never understood the appeal of Siafa.

It's Carabeo, not Carabello. Anyway, I agree that this schedule is just odd. Jan has been doing weekends for years now. I feel like they could have just promoted her to Monday-Friday and found someone else to do weekends. Although, maybe she personally wanted to do it like this.
HanSolo 473 Posted 58 minutes ago Posted 58 minutes ago Sometimes we get so locked into what’s perceived as the “normal” way that it can become seen as the “only” way even when it isn’t. Maybe this doesn’t work out for them, and they switch something up. Maybe it does work out long term. The economics aren’t what they once were. Maybe being different and seeing how it plays out is worth the shot when all factors are taken into account.
