Not necessarily.  WSMV had its logo in the early 80s before NBC bought WTVJ.  If anything, TVJ stole their 4 from Nashville and italicized it to make it look different

KARK now has a sister station west of them on I-40 whose logo they can rip off next.

In different variations that is. You can see the difference as far as how the current "4" is shaped vs how the 4 was originally shaped in the 4Strong era
