Georgie56 3324 Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 Well, that’s one way of telling corporate the news vans need a new paint job. 5 1
24994J 5621 Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 (edited) And they sold the parts off to Victory Auto Wreckers. I'd expect nothing less. Edited November 15, 2018 by Guest 1

Spring Rubber 715 Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 WGN added a 10pm newscast tonight for the blizzard coverage.
Georgie56 3324 Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 Contract buyouts are coming. https://www.robertfeder.com/2018/11/26/robservations-tribune-media-offers-buyouts-wgn-staff/
MorningNews 1489 Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 Streaming the WGN Morning News for a change today and surprised to hear the N-word going out over air several times during a Dean Reynolds entertainment segment. They played video of a young girl describing her frustration with Justin Bieber's marriage and repeatedly using the N-word without censorship. Complete facepalm and back to KTLA's morning offering I go.

Spring Rubber 715 Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 Regardless, that is rather shocking that they'd let the N-word slip without censorship on broadcast TV. Is that even allowed by the FCC?

Is that even allowed by the FCC? I guess it depends on the context it’s used. NBC's The Carmichael Show and ABC's Black-ish both have used the "a" variant. Edited January 16, 2019 by Georgie56

I was listening to Rover's Morning Glory on WMMS in Cleveland and a caller dropped a "R" and a certain homophobic word starting with F, it wasn't dumped but Rover did end the conversation.
Spring Rubber 715 Posted January 20, 2019 Posted January 20, 2019 Would we describe this as, "What happens when the news division has to produce graphics that mimic the sports division?"
24994J 5621 Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 WGN has proclaimed that CBS 2 "is on a rocket ship to 3rd place." This is brilliant. 2

Georgie56 3324 Posted February 11, 2019 Posted February 11, 2019 Well, WGN found some fresh bits from Bozo's Circus from the '60s and they'll have a two-hour special on it on Sunday. https://www.robertfeder.com/2019/02/05/robservations-wgn-special-unearths-original-bozos-circus-bits/
24994J 5621 Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 Since there's still a few minutes left on this Valentine's Day, enjoy these classics...
nomadcowatbk 156 Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 what do they replace the Cubs with?

You're going to see a lot more movies and syndicated reruns on the weekends soon. They'd be better off getting The CW back. Edited February 15, 2019 by Georgie56 1
CubsFan79 58 Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 Jack Brickhouse, Arnie Harris, and Harry Caray are turning over in their graves. Warning signs from 2014.

24994J 5621 Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 Haven't seen a WGN sportscast in awhile, but it looks like Rich King is doing a little Spring Training coverage in his retirement.

Spring Rubber 715 Posted February 23, 2019 Posted February 23, 2019 Let the record show that the excessive lowercase was done for stylistic reasons... j/k. Blame the weekend crew. (Yet they capitalized "Million" but nothing else.)
