Jay Russell 25 Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 WBBM should be ashame how long were they on
Jase 1065 Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 The Saturday night game(s) on ABC bring in big #s, so I'm not surprised they had to go back to it. Honestly, they probably should have just aired it until its conclusion and aired the Cubs post game stuff on 7.2 and then made the switch. Luckily, WFLD/Fox had a better option available and moved their game to WPWR/CW50. Not sure if the Chicago Wolves game on CW50 was over however. Since SNL was new, WMAQ was likely under some pressure to wrap things up and air SNL before 11P. 1
ns8401 955 Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 WMAQ went a solid hour. Meh, that's okay enough. WLS, on the other hand, must've been told by the network to return for the end of the Penn State/Ohio State game, going online-only for like 15 minutes for postgame. They gave the football viewers a ton of warning to switch to 7.2, but then brought it back to 7.1, leaving the game on 2 channels (plus ESPN3), and giving the Cubs fans NO OTA option. That borders on inexcusable, to me. If it was another team in another city.... 1
Jay Russell 25 Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 WFLD has updated their 'windows' to capture the Christmas scene of the city
ChiCubsFan 34 Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 They have a new "studio," if that's what you call it. It's called "Good Day Chicago Studio B." It's a room with a window that over looks the "FOX Plaza" with a table in it so they can do special segments there (i.e. Interview, cooking, etc.).
Jay Russell 25 Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 No in their main studio its a video wall kind of like WMAQs just smaller 4

Isn't that just the Sweetwater bar that they were broadcasting from holiday week? 1
Jay Russell 25 Posted January 4, 2017 Posted January 4, 2017 The video board panels in their main studio changes live images

I wouldn't call it a studio (which they now call 'Studio 32' (as of 1/9/17). It's a small space upstairs that they previously used for a online sports show with Lou Canellis and Hub Arkush. My guess is that someone said why are we using space at Sweetwater when we have our own we should be using. I'm surprised they have never taken advantage (a complete build out) of this space before (particularly now that the view across the street is better, big windows, etc...). ChiCubsFan 34 Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 Has anyone heard when Souza's last day is? 2 minutes later: If I read into the feder report, I would've seen it says end of this month. Whoops 5
Jay Russell 25 Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 WFLD Broadcasting fron the newsroom tonight 1
Chicago News Boy 34 Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 The news desk has been moved into the newsroom and they are broadcasting on what appears to be a temp set at 9
24994J 5621 Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 I never saw the desk, but it appears they just set up shop in front of the 3x3. Definitely not a bad look for a likely temporary period.
Spring Rubber 714 Posted February 9, 2017 Author Posted February 9, 2017 A temp set during sweeps? What?!
24994J 5621 Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Is Fox 32 getting a new set? Anything's possible. They're certainly due, but all signs point to Fox prioritizing new sets for their most successful stations, which WFLD is not. However, if they're in the newsroom for more than a week with these limited camera angles and such, I'm inclined to think they're making changes...that is if we don't hear anything, first. 1
24994J 5621 Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Darlene said in a Facebook live stream with Corey this morning that they'll be in the newsroom for 5-6 weeks. Gotta be a new set.
nynewslover 277 Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Hopefully WNYW is next.. it's unbelievable how long they've been on their current set and how bad it looks air.
Jase 1065 Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 A temp set during sweeps? What?! Yeah..very odd. It will be interesting to see what they come up with. 1
ChiCubsFan 34 Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 Darlene said in a Facebook live stream with Corey this morning that they'll be in the newsroom for 5-6 weeks. Gotta be a new set. And if you watch Dawns Facebook live Jeff says "Full-Blow...." and then she stopped him. 1
Spring Rubber 714 Posted February 10, 2017 Author Posted February 10, 2017 Speaking of the newsroom... Remember when they built that newsroom set for the morning news? How long did that even last, and what year(s) was that? I don't even remember it that clearly.
