CircleSeven 1945
As of Sept. 1, the sale is now closed. Hearst is out of the Islands now. It feels kind of weird not to see the big HEARST letters on the copyright liner, with the Hearst graphics. Let's see how long they keep that too. channel2 874
It's already gone from Hearst's website too.

NEOMatrix 1295
Does anyone know if the SJL brass has begun to "purge" the talent at KITV?

William1111 41
Bump; Seems like KITV has switched over to WorldNow, using a knockoff Hearst template. http://www.kitv.com/
tw-804 190
Sorry to bump this thread but KITV has a new branding called KITV Island News. The station also has new lower thirds and new music (I'm guessing production music). Elements of the Hearst package are still there in the open but with blue and white. Strive and the diagrids are out. http://www.kitv.com/video (to see it in action) http://www.kitv.com/category/305776/live-stream (recent newscasts) http://www.kitv.com/clip/12081539/1217-morning-news (the morning newscast has a new name: Good Morning Hawaii)

TheRolyPoly 1847
WOW! KITV got a massive downgrade compared to the Hearst era. That's what SJL/Lilly Broadcasting does. They ruin things for everything and always for the worst. I had a feeling that this was coming.

KITV used Good Morning Hawaii for its morning newscast for most of the 1990s.
channel2 874
SJL is cheaping up KITV so they can sell it to someone else in a few years (or sooner; they owned the Montecito stations for less than two years) for a higher price.
Breaking News 805
I wouldn't be surprise if Sinclair (#1) or (#2 Nexstar) try to grab the station. It going to be one of those higher profile owners.

TheRolyPoly 1847
I believe Raycom is a major player in Hawaii. Hawaii News NOW on KGMB and KHNL + KFVE with MCG Capital but will soon be owned by American Spirit Media, Raycom's sidecar company.
