who?cares 255 Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 Looks like another Indy station is getting a set overhaul. Sports director Anthony Calhoun posted on Facebook today saying they are getting a new set. Their current set is almost 11 years old.
Viper550 292 Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 It's Nexstar. In before Dalek desk and what not.
TheRolyPoly 2573 Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 About time! Even though it will get the Nexstar set, unfortunately.
LOWERCASE GUY 273 Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 I have to say, their 11 year old set aged WELL!!!
Devon 37 Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 Yes it has! It still looks like a modern set! So WXIN & WISH are getting sets. WTHR & WRTV got new sets in the last couple of years and of course WTTV launched there's. So Indy should be set (no pun intended) for a while.
who?cares 255 Posted March 17, 2018 Author Posted March 17, 2018 Appears demoltion will start this weekend.
Mrtraveler01 738 Posted March 17, 2018 Posted March 17, 2018 About time! Even though it will get the Nexstar set, unfortunately. I dunno, I think something like the WNCN set would be a great fit for WISH.
tjt24 315 Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 They were on the temp set this morning, which is in the newsroom. They said they'll be there about 6 weeks.
who?cares 255 Posted March 30, 2018 Author Posted March 30, 2018 Anchor teams keep touting their $1M new set will debut April 30. Their last set launched April 27th.
Devon 37 Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 I tweeted Anthony Calhoun if the debut was still happening today and he said (paraphrasing) "It's coming soon and will blow you away!"
TheRolyPoly 2573 Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 I tweeted Anthony Calhoun if the debut was still happening today and he said (paraphrasing) "It's coming soon and will blow you away!" I don't believe it until I see it.
qunewsguy 378 Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 I wonder which Nexstar graphics will debut alongside this?
who?cares 255 Posted April 30, 2018 Author Posted April 30, 2018 I wonder which Nexstar graphics will debut alongside this? I don't think they'll debut new graphics.
MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie 947 Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 You never know... besides their wishtv.com logo on their website is in a completely different font than before...
ABC 7 Denver 1729 Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Anchor teams keep touting their $1M new set will debut April 30. Their last set launched April 27th. Nexstar and a $1 Million set!? Perry Sook wouldn't. He wants to keep his $6.4 million salary.
TennTV1983 806 Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Nexstar and a $1 Million set!? Perry Sook wouldn't. He wants to keep his $6.4 million salary. For a company that usually builds their own news sets in-house, there have been a couple of cases where they've let professional set builders come in to do the work. This is likely one of those cases.
TheRolyPoly 2573 Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Nexstar and a $1 Million set!? Perry Sook wouldn't. He wants to keep his $6.4 million salary. Or his almost $20 million in compensation.
ABC 7 Denver 1729 Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Or his almost $20 million in compensation. Basically, ludicrous.
who?cares 255 Posted May 1, 2018 Author Posted May 1, 2018 Still no new set at 5. Indiana Primary is on Thursday, suspecting it should be by then.
Devon 37 Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 Ehh were going to be waiting a while. Brooke Martin posted on Facebook that the new set only started arriving today.
TennTV1983 806 Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 Ehh were going to be waiting a while. Brooke Martin posted on Facebook that the new set only started arriving today. There must have been a lot more work to be done in the studio than they expected for them to just now get to the installation of the new set itself. Just how old is WISH's building anyway?
Webovision 202 Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 There must have been a lot more work to be done in the studio than they expected for them to just now get to the installation of the new set itself. Just how old is WISH's building anyway? i can guarantee you that they didn't have more work than "expected"... they "expected" this from the get-go... believe it or not but there is a lot more work that goes into building a new set than tearing out the old one... putting a new door in the studio could bring in electricians, asbestos abatement... tons of building codes and inspectors... rarely is a set project "take old one down, put new one in"... there's always more...
Devon 37 Posted May 17, 2018 Posted May 17, 2018 Anthony Calhoun tweeted on May 14th that the new set is "just DAYS away!"
