KMBC/Kansas City is moving morning anchor Kris Ketz back to evenings, making him the lead anchor. Len Jennings will do sports (can't imagine this is his decision). Matt Flener will take over as primary morning anchor.

Kris used to do 5pm news for KMBC in the late 90s into the 2000s. Len used to do sports for WFTX 4 before moving to WZVN 7 as news anchor.

What kind of shake up...? Why would they do this? KMBC has been doing well in the ratings, so why would they change what's been working?

Probably something similar (if not identical) to WJMN's set.

Actually, not really. They've just posted spoiler shots, and are running a teaser spot.......looks a little better in my opinion!!! Does seem to be an FX job----pretty sure that makes them 3 out of 4 in this market!!! Debuts tonight at 10 [odd time, I know!].

Now more changes are in store for the ever changing CBS46/ CBS Atlanta once again. From Rodney Ho at the ajc.com; Stephany hasn't signed a new renewal and is expected to leave when her contract is up, but not sure when the actual date is but it's soon.

Others have left the station as well too and the following are; Bernard Watson, Frank Wiley who now going to WEWS/Cleveland, Mike Paluska's contract wasn't renewed, Renee Starzyk wasn't renewed as well too.

Renee went on to say that "The news director doesn't speak or make eye contact with you", so what will happen next at CBS46? Will Sharon Reed becoming to the Big A? Let stay tune to the souring saga of CBS46 in Atlanta......

KFOR-TV (Oklahoma City) has hired Marianne Rafferty as co-anchor of its 4:00, 5:00 and 6:30 p.m. newscasts. Rafferty, who started on Monday, previously worked for KOCO (I believe she was Marianne Bannister then) from 2003 to 2006; she then joined Fox News as an overnight update anchor and Fox News Edge reporter. Bannister replaces Meg Alexander, whose contract was abruptly terminated by station management in January after 17 years.

I could be wrong, but it seems like the root of WGCL's problems stem from hiring idiotic news directors. It's like they're purposely trying to keep this station down in the toilet.

Don't know if it's posted elsewhere on these threads, but KTVU will become the first Fox O&O to launch a 4:00 p.m. newscast (and the first to carry a newscast in that hour since a 4:30 p.m. effort that ran at WFXT for a couple of years starting in 2002) this summer, while also expanding the KTVU Fox 2 Morning News/Mornings on 2 by a half-hour to 4:00 a.m. on April 20.

No, they had a 7PM news from 1989 til 92, and an 11AM report from about 95-96 (it originally started as Carol Jenkins Live, then became Fox 5 Live) until 2009-ish.

I like Jawan and the Kup. I wonder how Eric is like, coming from Sacramento; he's actually making a market jump. Good luck to Eric and I'll see how he does here in the morning when I get a chance to watch him. But it's about time Jawan moved to evenings while the Kup goes back part-time to sports.

Kim Passoth joining WGCL as anchor/reporter:

I would think Tracye will drop the 4 & 6 pm shows and remain as 5 & 11 pm anchor. Speaking of changes it seems as though Rob Morrison who was most recently anchored the morning and noon news at CBS owned WCBS has auditioned for an anchor position at WGCL. Now question is will he anchor mornings? 4 & 6? Or 5 & 11?

What a stupid lineup. Why not let Adam & Trina anchor the entire 5 pm hour. With the changes seems both Adam & Pam are loosing airtime. Adam being pulled from 5, 6 & 11 pm and Pam being pulled from 11 am.

Another big anchor departure in Phoenix: Catherine Anaya is leaving KPHO after 13 years and 26 years in the business.

She notes her children's father died six months ago and she felt she needed to be there for her kids.

Odd to see the Republic do so much in-depth media stuff about another station...

WXYZ has hired Camille Amiri as a part-time reporter. Amiri had freelanced at WXYZ and WRTV in Indy from 2001 to 2004 and was hired at WJBK FOX 2 in Detroit as a reporter where she worked until 2008. She left TV that year so this is a return to the business for her.

Also on Monday at 5pm WXYZ will introduce it's new "Chief Medical Editor", Dr. Partha Nandi a local gastroenterologist. He will do segments on Monday-Wednesday-Friday on 7 Action News At 5. I suppose WXYZ is playing catch up to WDIV which has an ER Doctor at the Detroit Medical Center as it's health editor. WXYZ hasn't had anyone in the health reporter role since 2010.

Nandi has a syndicated show called "Ask Dr. Nandi" that airs in 78 countries as well. It looks like some really small stations in the states carry it.

Finally with the departure of WXYZ Sports Director Tom Leyden after 3 years in the job and 10 at the station, Brad Galli is the new evening Sports Anchor. No Sports Director titles have been given out for now.

The Now Detroit, 7 Action News At 5 and 7 Action News At 10 On TV20 Detroit will all be getting new anchor teams presumably on Monday as well in time for sweeps. This was all triggered by low demo ratings and the departure of their morning anchor Vic Faust who went to the FOX station in Saint Louis to be lead anchor.

WXYZ already redid it's morning show completely on April 6.

Maybe Diana Sullivan can return to KPHO 5
