TheRolyPoly 3520 Posted May 10 Posted May 10 If you ever wondered what Gray's WTVL-CD 49.7 in Chattanooga looked like, since it airs a weather loop there, well... here you go. 49.1 airs Telemundo.
MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie 1158 Posted May 18 Posted May 18 (edited) Now that Gray has officially absorbed WSYM into it's WILX portfolio, they announced that they will be expanding its broadcast studios with a groundbreaking on June 15. Edited May 18 by MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie 1
Megatron81 343 Posted May 18 Posted May 18 WILX should've always do the news for WSYM Scripps had no business trying to do the news on their own for FOX47 in my opinion, as it was cheap and low budget no wonder why Journal gave up doing the news for FOX47 in 2004 or 2005 and made a deal with WILX to do the news. I looked at an old TV Guide that i have from Dec, 5-11 1998 with Hulk Hogan, and 3 others I wanted The Stone Cold Steve Austin one since my parents got TV Guide through the mail I got Hulk Hogan which I know no one cares LOL. I saw that WSYM FOX47 had news before WXMI FOX17 which they launched in Jan of 1999 which was interesting as I thought that FOX17 had news before FOX47. 1
TheRolyPoly 3520 Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Gray has officially brought back local weather coverage for WTHI, THE right thing to do. Chief once again Kevin Orpurt and Everett Lau are back at it with StormTeam 10. 2
TheRolyPoly 3520 Posted June 4 Posted June 4 K5 - The Home Team and once again, it'll do so. Gray has announced a partnership with UH Athletics to make KFVE, once again, as the flagship station for Univ. of Hawaii sports. 110+ games will be broadcast every year, including all available football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, men’s volleyball, and women’s volleyball games, plus broadcasts of baseball, softball, and women’s soccer. Yep, it'll be a lot. Not only that, a new 24/7 Warrior Streaming Channel will launch, featuring player profiles, classic games, and special programs. This marks a return for KFVE when it used to broadcast UH sports for two decades (under the now KHII signal) and also a return for KHNL when it did so in the 80s when it used to be Independent and later FOX. They replace Spectrum Sports Hawaii (and OC16 to a lesser extent) as the broadcaster of UH sports. https://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/2026/06/04/hawaii-news-now-selected-official-broadcast-partner-uh-athletics/?fbclid=IwY2xjawSON1VleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZA80MDk5NjI2MjMwODU2MDkAAR5226nyTRX5fHUGdoV9TmM5cbMxKjQBU9xIVZreH9cX5hGvIyTM3-Sq8s_XMg_aem_6KagcwuAop5leVUPN2hVqw
GoldenShine_10 263 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago WLFI and WTHI (but not WTVA or any of the others yet, probably soon) have moved to the Gray template on their websites.

I was just noticing that too. I wonder how long until they start combining newsrooms. In Carterville/Harrisburg/Paducah/Cape Girardeau, WSIL is still operating independently of KFVS and in Evansville, WEVV is still operating independently of WFIE. I don't know how a combined brand might work in S IL/W KY, but Evansville folks may get another awful brand name like Nexstar did with WEHT/WTVW being Eyewitness News (at least they dropped the "WEHT Local" and "Local 7" brands after a while and reverted to ABC25 and CW7). Bracing for something like TRISTATE NEWS NOW or EVANSVILLE NEWS NOW. Or maybe they'll surprise us and just move everything to WFIE (NBC, CBS, and Fox) and make WEVV collection of OTA subchannel networks...
