nydem2015 52 Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 Chris Cimino is leaving WNBC after 24 years at the station and 20 years on TINY. His last day is July 2nd. No word yet on who is replacement will be.
JoseRM303 171 Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 I’d say it would be a toss up between Rafael & Erica to get the Weekday morning spot.
Jayr481j 0 Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 I hope it was his choice , and not because they didn’t renew his contract after the f bomb
TVNewsLover 801 Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 It’s entirely feasible David Price could be moved to mornings (and retain the 11am while ceding the 4pm to Janice).
Colortini 76 Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 I could see Dave getting it...that’s a good point! Sam Champion and his speedo are running everyone out in the morning. First John now Chris!
nydem2015 52 Posted June 25, 2019 Author Posted June 25, 2019 Dave getting TINY actually makes sense. Any idea if anyone else might be retiring soon? Perhaps Chuck, Janice and/or Bruce?
Spintech33 126 Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 Toss up between Dave and Rafael to get AM. Honestly, I would like to see Rafael to get AM. Perfect fit for him. Leave Dave at 11AM and 4PM. 9 hours ago, nydem2015 said: Dave getting TINY actually makes sense. Any idea if anyone else might be retiring soon? Perhaps Chuck, Janice and/or Bruce? I say Chuck first. You see he doesn't do 11PM anymore if that's one indication. However, possibly his choice. If I was a bettor in this situation: Neither Janice or Bruce will be retiring anytime soon.
nydem2015 52 Posted June 25, 2019 Author Posted June 25, 2019 My guess is Dave gets TINY. He’s higher profile and he has the experience in the mornings. I wouldn’t be surprised if Chuck retires from working full time at the end of the year. He chose to step down at 11 two years ago. Apparently Natalie is going on Maternity Leave in the fall. I wouldn’t be surprised if he steps down when she gets back. Bruce And Janice Perhaps will remains for a while. Chris probably doesn’t want to keep working mornings. 20 years is long enough.
nydem2015 52 Posted June 27, 2019 Author Posted June 27, 2019 After giving it some more thought my guess is that Rafael will take over weather for TINY. He is the natural heir.
MediaZone4K 2317 Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 Dave Price would be great in the AM. Good luck to Chris though, can't believe he's leaving.

nydem2015 52 Posted July 13, 2019 Author Posted July 13, 2019 Chris on Facebook is claiming his departure form WNBC wasn’t his choice and that he’s not retiring.
Gmatt14 0 Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 What about Maria LaRosa. She was hired by NBC 4 but is hardly on.

kshow 167 Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 Maria LaRosa just announced on Twitter that she’s the new morning meteorologist.
jtgh922 18 Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 I was hoping Dave or Raphael would have gotten the job. Does a station really need 5 meteorologists?

However, congratulations to the freelancer, now official new NBC4 meteorologist Maria LaRosa. Darlene > Michael > Lauren > Maria.. Does have a nice fit.. The good news is that TINY could definitely hold their own with ratings in the AM. I say this is a good pick up. Another homegrown meteorologist on board. If I'm not mistaken most stations tend to have 5 on staff.

CarolAnn 0 Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 I hope Chris’s replacement if not Erica Gross. Maria LaRosa is a much better fit. even any of the guys. In my opinion that is
