Guest Posted November 15, 2019 Posted November 15, 2019 The opens and some elements have been updated to match the graphics in monitors on the station’s new set and the look of some of their recent promos. Inside sources say the station will debut an all new graphics package in February and that the updated elements are temporary. The 10pm is now known as News4 Tonight. More videos to come. CBS11 Weatherboy 44 Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 And Kent , It's getting ready to be April. Did they hold off because of the COVID-19 outbreak to debut in the summer?
MikePulse 318 Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 The new graphics went live as of 4 PM central time. We’re thinking possible In-Sink update too. IMG_4856.MOV
who?cares 255 Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 It appears to be a hybrid of the WOIO and KPTV packages.

TheRyan 560 Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 Not bad...I actually like it. Still taking a bit of effort getting used to them going by the name "News 4". But the graphics, music, and VO are a big step in the right direction.

T.L. Hughes 903 Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 They also changed the “4”’s coloring. It had been yellow since the mid-1980s (when it was still a tri-lined design), now it’s white. I’m not sure it translates well on-screen.
TSSZNews 1052 Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 Real interesting thing about the In-Sink update is that I only hear the original 3 note signature on top - wonder if this is syndicated out with the Indiana sig eventually.

Matt Quinn did design both packages. https://mattquinncreative.com/ I'm waiting to see if other Meredith stations will receive new graphics along those lines as well. Also, News 4 Nashville sounds much better than just News 4, IMO.

The only ones that are not using either version is WNEM which is using the CBS O&O package and WGGB which is using the WABC package.

KTVK/KPHO use the same L3s as the WFTV package. Just like KCTV (their opens mimic WFTV as well), KMOV, and WFSB. And thinking more about it, KVVU uses KPTV's package for the opens but mimics CNN for the L3.

Not only that, but it sounds like In-Sink has moved on to v.6, complete with the original eight-note signature (as opposed to the nine-note "Indiana" version).
Yankees4life 563 Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 I'm sorry but Tower >>>>> In-Sink And the graphics look like a Nexstar knockoff

It's not bad, but it doesn't come close to carrying the same strength as Tower. Personally I think they would sound better with In Sink v5 than what is presumably v6.

It's definitely a step back after WKBN's Impact masterpiece.
channel2 982 Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 ...it's In-Sink crossed with Alchemy News, isn't it?
TheRyan 560 Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 I'm not sure why, but it sort of reminds me of the Prime News (New Zealand) theme music.
Gavin 118 Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 The Voice of Scott Chapin Is good, and the graphics are dimensional look a like of all of station in Tennessee which like to resemble the city of Nashville. Um, the music is rushed of In-Sink and that doesn't sound good I liked the Tower better (The Old music). Um I just don't like it it like a knockoff of WGCL CBS46 Atlanta and KPTV FOX 10 Portland graphics.
bmasters1 412 Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 What made WSMV add the Nashville part to their name, and be no longer simply News 4?
